I'm a beginnner in goalkeeping and I'm trying to learn how to dive.
Like I saw in tutorial videos, when I want to dive to stop the ball, I have to:
1) Rotate my body towards the ball
2) Get in lower position and jump to catch the ball
3) Catch the ball
Here's my problem:
After jumping and catching the ball, I fall on to the ground and rase (scratch) my hips and it really hurts.
So my question is, on which part of the body should I land onto ?
P.S. Same problem happens when trying to catch the ball on 1 v 1 by diving ...

goalkeeper diving or goalkeeper jumping??
when you say diving its really different meaning with your content..
iam goalkeeper in my team..
i think it can be trained before the game...
your body must be relax when you want to jump something and want to stop the ball
sometimes i can call, not all player can be a good goalkeeper..
why?? because its not easy to be a good goalkeeper

I don't think I shouldn't be a goalkeeper because last few days I was goalkeeping like a pro...(freekicks and penalities).
My only problem is that when I go for a dive to catch the ball (on the ground), I rase (scratch) my hip. I think I'm not doing it correct because I got hurt.
If you still don't understand, go to this video:
youtube.com/watch?v=blz9_M1sqhU&feature=related
and watch from 7.00 to 7.05
When I try to do the same, as I'm falling on to the ground I rase my right-side somehow and it hurts like you rased it with a rubber or something.
Thank you in advance.

First of all, it's not my video.
Second, you only need to watch 5 seconds of the video (from 7.00 to 7.05)
Third, you're still not replying :-)

I am not a good goalkeeper but it is usually my position in a soccer game with friends. I don't usually dive as well, but I have a friend who is good at goalkeeping. I watched him train and I remember watching him do the dives on foam catching while the trainer throws balls at different directions. I believe he got used to falling and so he became mentally and physically prepared.

I don't really want to take it as a career. I would if I thought of taking it seriously, but we seldom have football/soccer games so I don't think that would be necessary, and besides we only play for fun and most of my teammates are good players, so I hardly have to catch balls from attempts.
