Its been a while since the last time I created a fantasy discussion so I decided make another one because I think we need a break from the stuff about politics, negative news and other harshness of reality.
What are the talents that you never had that you wish you have? for sure as a kid you dreamed of becoming something but you decided to change dreams because its not meant to be.
Though this is a fantasy thread, I want you to share the talents you wish you have that exist in real life.... so super powers are not allowed to be mentioned here.
I will share the talents I dont have that i wish I have:
1.Mathematical skills= I suck I Math, and I hate math, i tried everything to be good in Math but I just dont have it. well I get to finish highschool and pass Math subjects but I dont want to encounter another algebra equation ever again, I dont even like to encounter a simple elementary division math problem neither. That could be the reason why i didnt pursue college. I mean even if I take courses like Fine Arts, Music or English, there will still be Math problems. If I am good in math, I would have been an Astrologist or a scientist cos its like my childhood fantasy.
2. Sales skills- When I am just starting at the call center industry, I experienced being a telemarketer before I became a part of the customer service area. I hate customer service but Telemarketing job makes me love customer service. I am an awful sales man. If I am good sales man, I could have been extremely rich, I could have got 999999 referals at Ptc's or a Businessman who can close deals with different investors. apparently I dont have the marketing skills. I wish I have marketing skills and have the ability to make people buy things. It sucks that I am not a good sales person.
3.likability-I wish I have the gift charisma, I want to be able to lead revolution or something,I wish everyone likes me. Well I have friends in the office but wherever I go, I always have enemies. I wish I am likable, But as we know you cant impress everybody.

I think I'd like the ability to read people better. As it stands, I'm so awkward in social situations I just kind of stammer out something and flee to a corner where I don't have to deal with anyone.
It'd also be nice if I was one of those people who was naturally gifted at art without much effort but alas, no go. Back to studying anatomy I go.

The ability to read people basically improves the quality of a person's social life and I think its good for the career too cos you know how to convince clients to be in your favor.
I have an obsession with art too but to satisfy my cravings for pursuing art, what I need is not talent, I need money.

I heard crayons in sand paper looks great. that could be a cheaper alternative I guess. Another talent I wish I had, It would be hand and eye coordination, I love fighting games, I can finish them in Arcade mode, but I know I wont win those videogame tournaments. I am jelous of those guys who became millionaires from winning videogame tournaments.

Ah, if only, if only.
Money would be great to have for my art. Then I could afford more than pencils and paper. Why is decent paint to expensive? I think I'll need to figure out how to make pigments out of berries and stuff before I can afford some good painting supplies.

I kinda wonder how I was able to make people laugh in the internet but I cant make them laugh in person. a sense of humor is like a good talent too. Just imagine if reincarnation is real, You will get through algebra again.

Oh men! I don't want to brag but I think all those skills you have just mentioned you wish you had are actually some of my strong points. I don't want to go into further details about it, but I'm pretty confident about having them. Anyway, the skill that I really wish I had would definitely artistic talents, like painting as good or better than one of my friends, playing musical instruments that could just drop every listener's jaw, so sing good enough to make records that get famous around the world, and the likes. I also wish I continued studying programming as I was really good at it during my freshman year in high school. I transferred school the following year and there was no programming in that school's curriculum so I just lost contact with that part of me. Now I really wished I just self-studied on that. That's all I can think of for now but I'm sure there are still some.

I, to can play some instruments but not as good as many would. I know some basics of guitar, I play the flute during elementary and high school, just the short one, and I'm practicing percussion, the whole drum set to be more specific. We had electric organ and xylophone but I never got to learn to play any of them, although at times I tried but only got successful in making noise.
Anyway, I am from Zamboanga so I do know a little Spanish. I studied in an international high school ran by Turkish people and Turkish language was one of our lessons, so I also know a little Turkish. I know English and Filipino, very well. Okay, now I'm just bragging. Well, actually, I really want to learn Turkish and Japanese. I was planning for a long time to self-study through online materials but never got to it. Indolence is my main sickness.
Anyway, I get what you mean about marketing in the film industry. I take my pride in the world of local buy and sell. I always am able to sell whatever it is I need or want to sell. Seriously, I believe I just could sell anything. I think it's a gift.

There are certain musical instrument I wish i can play, sadly I am stuck with piano(my piano skills is not the best though) I wish i can play Flute, Violin , shimezen, kulintang and electric guitar., I love the sounds those instruments produce.
I'm telling you, I gave my best to be good in Math, even have some tutors, but it doesnt work.
I do have some talents I can brag about though, I can speak 3 languages, but thats because I am biracial...LOL
Spanish, English and tagalog were kinda basic and my Spanish still needs polishing.
But I am jealous to people who can speak 10 languages, specially the hard complicated languages like French, Suomi, Russian and Mandarin. I wanna learn a 4th language
The reason why I want to be a marketing master, have you ever wondered why some beautiful movies flop while many ugly movies gets box office success, it's a result of marketing.

I would like to be able to calm people and animals with my touch.
I would like to be able to sing
I would like a more flexable body Do I think this would make me happier? No, but I think it would be fun and helpful to be able to do these things.

about calming animals, are you having issues with your pets? who are the particular people you want to calm down?
I can actually sing, LOL I use to compete in competitions but I gave up on that dream not because I didnt win but I dont like the way music industry runs.
Flexible body? Literally or symbolically?
I heard Yoga can make it literally happen though.

I wish that I was a good driver. I failed my driving test 5 times and then I finally got my licence, but I am still very bad at driving. Today I don't drive. When my husband and I are going somewhere together he is driving, and when I am going on my own I prefer to catch a bus. It would give me a lot more freedom if I was able to drive, we have a car, but I don't use it when I am going somewhere on my own.
I wish that I had a good sense of direction. My father used to joke about it and say that I could get lost in a bathtub. Unfortuneately it is quite close to the truth because I am really bad at finding the way from one place to another. When I took driving lessons we were driving around in the area close to my home and when the lesson was over my instructor told to drive back to my home and I said: "Ehm okay...which direction is my home?" He couldn't stop laughing because we were very close to my home, but I was still unable to find the way back A good sense of direction would be very useful when I travel, because I always get lost.

I can drive and I drive to work everyday, I think driving everyday until you get use to it is the best way to be a good driver but I got I lot of tickets for months before I became an OK driver... LOL I still have problems with parking.
You are the person who makes a lot of discussion about travelling right.... I guess you need to learn how to read maps at least. Maps helped me in my trip to Netherlands.

I love travelling, it is my absolute favourite hobby. I never visit a new city without buying a map, but I am still able to get lost. Maybe because I don't always manage to read the maps the right way or turn them upside down by mistake. My friends always tease me about it, and they don't trust me when I tell them which way to go, because my shortcuts often become long detours

LOl about shortcuts becoming long detours. speaking of maps, jokes about maps just reminds me of the infamous Miss South carolina who got viral in youtube. maybe try to hire a tourist guide in your next travels. I would plan to have one in my next trip, though yeah they were expensive.

Hi, CaptAlbert! I have problems to make my answer because I have to choose amongst too many talents that I'd like to have. I could begin with maths because I'm the same case as you but the situation with physics is even worse. I like this science but back at school I used to struggle with it without success.
I'd like to play piano. Unfortunately I've missed the years when it was easier to learn how to play. I would be grateful if there was some magical way to learn it.
I'd like to be a painter. When I was a kid I made some drawings but I never learned more.
And I'd like to be more confident in myself. This is important and other people see it.
Now where is the Golden Fish to tell her my wishes?

I wish the fish you are talking about is available in petshops, I would buy that fish, Science use to be my favorite subject in kindergarten and elementary, I was very fascinated, but ever since I encountered Physics and Chemistry in highschool.... English and history became my fave subjects...LOL
I also like to be photogenic liek the models, I mean there are models who look freakin ugly in person but camera loves them. I want to be loved by the camera too. but the camera loves me once in a while.

Not really, Camerasdont love me, lol it rarely catches my best angles. Chemistry is the first branch of science I encountered with math computations and that makes me hate it. The last time I enjoyed science classes, it was Biology classes, No formulas and Math problems crap.

I agree with you I also want to have a salesman skill. I am into selling ladies bags and other stuff. Although people buy stuff from me i think it is still not enough. I takes awhile before my products are gone. I also wants to have the gift of music. I like music so much but music doesn't seem to like me. I tried learning how to play the guitar but i still do not know how. I would also like to sing and compose songs.

for sure its going to feel so good if your product is out of stock before the end of the day. I think having a good sales skills will make a person go far, they said its a skill I can learn...I do hope I can learn such skill, I am starting to consider trying a marketing course,

The talents I wish I had are: 1. Being able to make beautiful music. I am a huge fan of Adele. She is beautiful and talented. She makes good music and it really touches millions of people.. 2. Being able to dance gracefully. 3. Fluent in English. I must admit that I am having a hard time to speak in english at times and it sucks big time. I envy those people who are both fluent in verbal and writing.. There are many talents i wish i really had so I can be more flexible and productive..

I can write songs and sing but I cant compost melodies with instruments, though I can play a bit of piano. I use to dream about being a singer too but I got disgusted with the system of the mainstream music industry.
Your English is actually descent. what is your first language anyway?
I use to be writer but I have a major writer's block recently.

Well when I was a kid I took ballet lessons for like two weeks and then quit cause I was being a lazy kid and I didn't like stretching for the splits. I really wish I hadn't cause I find myself really wishing that I had the beauty, grace, and flexibility of ballerinas. So I guess that would be the talent that I would wish for, being good at ballet. I also took ice skating lessons as a kid and quit cause I was a lazy kid and couldn't figure out how to do the simple tricks (I'm sensing a trend here). So another talent I'd want would be to be a great ice skater too. I've named two athletic things.... let me see if I can name a more mental-oriented thing. I guess I would wish for a sort of charisma as well. I think mine would be more along the lines of wanting to be well-spoken and courageous when encountering new people instead of being afraid of people.

You know what I pursued martial arts before, I joined a tournament, I got injured and there goes the martial arts career. Maybe if I was less lazy too I would have been really good.

The talents that I wish I had was not only being able to sing but to play the guitar and keyboard. I have always wanted to do something or anything musical and wanted to be the lead singer in my own band. I dreamed of sitting in my backyard with family get togeathers and playing the guitar and singing songs that I composed myself. I have also wanted to be able to play the keyboard, piano or organ. I am so envious of those people who possess this types of talent. That is what my fantasy dream is.

One talent that i wish i have is the gift of singing... It's been my weakness ever since... Filipinos love to sing especially during parties or even when hanging out... I always refuse offers to sing during those times... how i wish i could sing along with my friends and not just end up singing in my head. It's also an advantage when you have a golden voice when courting someone. It's always a romantic edge from everybody else.

I know our country is so musical that karaoke is invented in our country (and we are not getting credit for it) singing ability can actually be learned but there are sacrifices to be made, you know the expensive voice lessons, then you will sacrifice the privilege of drinking cold beverages. cos cold beverages ruins the voice.
