Its now 920pm and i am back online I found out i had a virus and it was atacking my AVG security and i could not fix it i removed AVG and installed Norton security free tral thinking this would fix it but it did not so after hours trying to fix it i gave up and used my recovery cd Now i have a new working pc and everything is great again only for one small problem now i have to update the dam thing and load up all my sites. I would have suggested using Avast with it's pre-boot scan feature, which I really like about it, but seeing as you have already found another solution I would then suggest to just get a better anti-virus. I have no problem using AVG, it's good, but there are better ones which could prevent virus attacks better. Glad to hear you're back online.

I would just like to say that before something like this happens again, it's better to create a back up of your bookmarks, saved passwords and some other stuff and store them on a third party site where you can download them later after you decided to format your computer. However, before you do the ultimate killing of the virus, I also suggest that you do a system recovery, just in case the virus was not in your system yet by the time your system had saved a recovery point. Hope this helps.

Yes it has happened but I always neglect getting the recovery CD's or forget them, etc so I end up buying another darn PC. I know it's not the most economical thing to do but I am just not a good computer technician. I know the CD's would help alot. I did buy them at BestBuy for this newest one but then as I went to the store again to pick them up they only gave me my PC and not the disks. I didn't check for them right away, so it had been 2 weeks after it passed when I realized they were not included so I guess I missed out on it again, grrrrrrr. I think it's terrible when you use an anti-virus and it still attacks your PC. Were your updates up to date with the AVG? That night have been the problem. I hate it when someone makes these viruses just to cause havoc to the computers, they are just lonely sad people who do this. Hoping you can get your software all loaded and back on track.

I have only had one problem with a virus. Im not sure what happen. I have a lap top and some how i got a trogin virus. Well i had it set up with an account for me, my husband, and a guest. I had no clue what to do about it. It would not let me onto the internet at all but yet on the other accounts i could so i only had the virus on my account so i had to just delet my account all together and just make me a new one. But that only took me like 30 min to fix. I was very upset. I can only imagine how you were feeling all day today. Glad you got it fixed though.
