how are you going to feel if someone stoles your ID inside your bag in a bookstore? Its really weird for instead of getting my wallet and cellphone in my bag, he rather choose to get my ID rather than those two. its really weird right? I'm somehow alarmed of this, what is his motive of getting my ID? is this a sign for me to double my care of myself? i manage to recognized this person around and he keeps on mysteriously staring at me like creepy. Blimey! what should I do? Comments and Opinions are widely entertained! :)

There is a need for you to file for an affidavit o lost even if it is not necessary to avoid unusual incidents. many people nowadays are using different identities to pursue crimes. You must need to be more alert and cautious of your personal safety, especially that you are encountering suspicious strangers. And you also need to report this to the authorities to have some more security. Don't trust any stranger around you or even some close friends! Keep warning your actions and yourself as well.

Identity theft should not be taken lightly. I hope you told the authorities about this before whoever stole your ID decides to use it illegally.

I think your question is how would I feel if someone stole (not stoles) my ID. I think it's creepy too, because when someone goes for ID as opposed to goods (also wrong to steal someone else's things), then we know that person's goal is to steal the identity of their victim.

I'll feel really scared if someone does that & I'll be extra cautious.I think that person is a stalker.Tell the police about that person & describe him/her in detail so that the police will have their eyes on that creepy person.

I had this experience before when I was in college, my ex-girlfriend's previous partner stole my ID inside my car. Maybe he was curious about me, my appearance or my house and that creeps me out. In your case, that guy stalks you a lot and if I were you, tell your parents about it, that guy is creepy.

I think that person is your stalker and really wanted to kept some of your photo's with him. Another thing was he maybe used your ID in some crimes activities that is why he needs your ID. As we all know these days, identity their is now rampant in the internet and now he get your ID that is also identity thief I think?

Maybe he likes how shiny your ID looks like. Or maybe he needs an ID in order to get in to some place. Or maybe he's a stalker who collects human hair and creates a doll with it. It should be among these. If not, then maybe he's incredibly stupid and thought your ID is some kind of a new gadget that stores money. This post is a proof why I shouldn't be a detective.

Oh my. Have you notified the police? This is the first thing that you should do. Especially since you recognize him. I would have to say that when anyone steals your Id there is reason for concern. Not only for your safety but identity theft as well. The man now has your address and if he is staring at you then you have much to worry about. Call the police and report this and keep your doors and windows locked. Do not go anywhere by yourself.

He probably mistook your ID for a credit card. I think he tried to reach for your wallet first, but because there were so many people around and he couldn't reach for your wallet, he just picked what he felt could be of value, and in that case it was your ID which he thought was something valuable.

If someone stole your ID , you should report it immediately because people nowadays can steal your identity and it may cost you a lot of money. They can apply for credit cards and charge lots of money on them and so on. If you know who stole your ID , and what they look like , you could give a description to police and they may catch him.

This guy is a freak. The reason why he stole your ID instead of your wallet and cellphone is that maybe he wanted to stalk you, just like some creepy guys we can see in the movies. So you must be cautious of your safety. Try not to live alone.

Maybe it was a mistake getting your ID instead of anything with high value like your phone or wallet? Maybe you put your ID somewhere it can be easily taken than that of your other belongings. And the reason why he kept looking at you was because he also felt weird because he took your ID by mistake. But the possibility of the person being a stalker is also possible. Though I think that a stalker wouldn't use that means to get any of your belongings. Usually, as I read in books and watch in TV, doesn't a stalker take something from the person they stalk at times when their subject is not in the situation? Have you reported or shared this to anyone besides this website? Because I think you are going to need your ID back. :)

That's creepy.Of all the things you have in your bag why is it that he wants your id?Was it your school id or your company id?I think if it is your school id you have to report it to the student affairs to have it replaced as soon possible .If it is your company id then I guess it's best to let your dept.head or your boss know about it and then report it to your hr or to authorities responsible for issuing your company id.Identity theft is spreading all around the world and many people has been victimized of that. They will use all your information to get money, benefits, items which you own using your id's or information found in your id .Better report the incident to the authorities if you have enough time. They can use it to fool people using your information and pictures if you have picture in your id :-s.

If you are really sure who stole your ID, you should report it to the guard. They are posted there to keep the bookstore free from any untoward incidents especially to it's patrons. By the way is it your ID in school, if so you can report it stolen so that your school will issue a temporary pass for you until the time it is replaced or returned.

Maybe that person knows you, or have a crush on you.or someone was tripping you around. Isn't it? It can also be that the person mistakenly got your id and thought it was your wallet... weird as you say, but then it can be a mistake or anything you didn't expect... Have you report this to the bookstore guard or something?

From what I could understand by reading your thread, it would seem that someone is bothering you. I do not think it is a thief, otherwise surely you would take your wallet. The fact that this person wants to steal your ID, well that worries me, then I ask. You know something about this person? How long have you repeat the fact that he follows you? These details are very important, especially because you do not know who you're dealing with. In all ways, if this person is still behind layers giving you trouble, well better go to the police. This is however just my opinion.

Well first of all, I suggest you file an affidavit of loss because even if your ID isn't worth a fortune it is very important. There are a lot of identity thieves nowadays. They will use your personal details as their own. In short they will pretend to be you. In worst cases they will do crimes and the purposely leave your ID on the crime scene and then the blame would be on you. So now just to be sure go get that affidavit of loss from an attorney.
