call and text apps between mobiles

Mu husband is flying abroad and might not come back like within a year and there is less chances for me to go along..I want to stay connected with him and I believe there would be some apps that facilitate in free calling and texting to mobiles abroad..please help me out on this..

I have a lot of cousins and uncle who stays far away from me. Some are in US, some are in Singapore and in other countries. I mostly used to contact them with Gtalk or yahoo messenger. It helped me to reduce my bills. Hope they will help you.

hey dear so have you started with any app.
if no,here are some suggestion from my side:
1.yahoo messeger(or even rediff messeger or gtalk)
2. skype(its limited version which is free...allows you to have cam chat)
3.fb will serve only the purpose of text chat
4.and if you want some apps for moobile..then you can find many in android market(if you are using android phone)...and if you are using RIM phone...BBM will also serve the purpose of text chat.
do let me know what are you prefering to have chat

oh these are really helpful.. my brother's in singapore and what connects us to him on mobile are apps like Whatsapp, FB messenger for chat/pm and mobile skype for calls. ^_^

i think it is a very useful facility. i belive in free calling and text application for mobile
And while at it.. why don't you use Facebook instead? ^^;
