Many people would say that this is not a big deal but this time for me this is a deliverance! This winter was so long and cold, we had so much snow that every day of it was a challenge. And now suddenly the temperatures have jumped up, the sun is shining - we have survived! What about you?

I'm so happy that winter is over. I dislike the cold weather and wish I lived somewhere warmer. Since I don't live somewhere that is warm I have to deal with and put up with the cold weather. When it's over I'm so happy to be able to enjoy the nice weather that spring and summer provide. Love it when it's nice out. It makes me want to be out and about going places and getting things done.

Yeah it is such a nice time. I love it when the weather is getting better. It is so enjoyable to be able to go outdoors.I'm that I will be able to buy a new patio set for our deck outback. We have a huge deck and it would be nice to have a nice table set out there. I was planning to get one last year but it never worked out. I hope that this year will be different. Enjoy this beautiful weather. It makes a person feel good after being inside all winter.

Today the sun has been shining on my island and that is very nice. I still need my big coat and the scarf, because it is too cold to wear a jacket, but it is a step in the right direction, and I happy that the snow has disappeared. The winter hasn't been too bad this year. We had snow, but as much snow as last year or the year before last year. In my country the spring months are different from year to year. Sometimes we can sit in the garden in March and sometimes we still have snow in April. I hope that April will be nice and sunny this year

Well, we had a wetter than normal winter, and quite cold at times, and now the last couple of days we have been warmer than normal so it really makes me wonder if the prediction for everywhere this summer to be extremely warm compared to normal is going to be correct?

Good morning, my friend! Not being a winter person, I am never thrilled when winter looms! And the older I get, the less I even like it! And the ONLY good thing about winter, is that I know spring follows...and THAT is my most favourite season of ALL! The anticipation of good things to come, I a;most feel newborn..LOL!
I didn't look at your profile..so don't know where you are from...but here on the West Coast of B.C. (Canada)the weather was not phenominally cold..nor snowy--BUT it does NOT seem to want to EXIT! Wind is NOT something usual here...and we have had a tremendously GALE force windy winter! So it has been a "damage" filled winter, trees, property..and power outs! I like things that I can see..and the wind is so daunting, as only when it is gone..you see the damage in it's wake..and the mess you have to clean up...DANG!
I cannot wait to get planting...but after all my complaining..the harbingers of spring are here...Crocuses have been blooming for some time. Daffodils about to open ..and hyacinths not far behind..so, spring must be just around that cloud!
Let's celebrate...and kick Ol Man Winter in the buttinski..LOL!

Canada, friend, is bigger than the U.S.A., and altho it lies North of the 49th parallel (49 degrees north of the Equator) (actually some of Canada lies below the 49th (like the Island I live on)...only the Yukon Territories get the kind of weather that you are referring to!
Just reading a profile of Bulgaria...your mean temperatures are almost exactly to those that I live in. Winters, not much colder than zero..Summers 25-30C...and, of course, we are on the Metric system, too!
But, it has kind of been of Winter of NO predictions..strange weather the world over!

Hi, Pergammano, are you kidding? I thought that Canada means a lot of cold and snow. And beautiful landscapes like your avatar picture. I'm from Bulgaria, this is on the Balkan Peninsula, in Europe. We are close to the Mediterranean so the climate is not harsh.
But this winter was unusually cold. To live with gale force wind is a challenge too.
But as I learned, today was the first day of spring! Here in the town I see crocuses and hyacinths only in the flower shops but the spring odour is in the air!

This winter was kind of hard. I am glad we can all go have some fun in the sun. And wear less clothes!

sounds like you had a long winter....
where i am from on the other hand i want to know what happened to the winter??? it has been warm most of the winter. we had a few cold days and we had 2 nights i remember or snow. the 1st night u could barely even see it and the 2nd night it stuck to cars, decks, trash cans, ect but no roads or drive ways. i love the snow and i am a little sad that we had none. I am glad that it will be staying warm and not getting cold 1 day and warm the next lol. plus in the summer time there is more to do :) i am just a little worried what the weather will bring us this summer seeing as how crazy the weather has been lately.

I'm going to be honest, as much as I like warmer weather, I truly enjoy the cold and snow. Not the freezing, arctic like weather. Most people think I am crazy because the cold and the snow do not slow me down one bit, even in deep snow. I play hard in it. Ride a bike, or getting my exercise in being a good samaritan pushing stuck cars and trucks out of the snow. I'm a big boy, so now, I can push trucks and SUVs out of the snow. Or I will go outside and shovel the snow for people. What's sad is that my family for example has a snow blower, and they will use it unless I am coming over to visit. Even compared what did a better job of shoveling, me or the blower, and I beat it. That's what happens when you are too strong for you own good. My family doesn't like it when I go outside with no coat on saying it is too cold, but when I play hard outside, I am so pumped that I don't feel the cold weather, or even bother to wear boots. Also, because I lift weights, winter is better for me because it makes the body work harder in the cold. I can get away with piling on size and weight to grow, and also eat not only a ton of food, but eat heavier meals, which I can burn easier in the winter. I'm practically a polar bear in the winter. But then again, I also played football in cold weather. I wasn't always like this. Like a normal person, I like warmer weather, but I don't like it when it's too hot. Can't be as productive, and work as hard, unless I drink gallons of water a day.
