complaining

Why do some people on My Lot insist on complaining all the time and always pointing out the guidelines? I'm sure we can all read them and if you don't well you'll soon find out what you're doing wrong because someone will tell you or refer you to the guidelines. I have to put up with a lot of complaining in my life at home and don't want to elsewhere. So, be happy and try to enjoy your time on My Lot.

I don't know what to say but i am much more like you i too don't like someone to point me to read the guidelines every time.I would like that person to tell me directly then to pointing me to read it.Its assumed that whoever is a member here has already read the guidelines.

Many people haven't read them but they are happy just the same to start topics without ever commenting back to those who respond. It's assumed that they are happy with the results that they obtain by using myLot like that.

Just as long as they don't complain about their earnings

That's right Diana but that's their way of participating here and no where it is written that there is any compulsion that one must comment back.It is advised to comment back as this is a discussion site and it helps to earn better. And if they get happiness just by not commenting then its OK as after all they are having fun that way.

I agree with you - life is too short to worry on petty things; just get out there and enjoy yourself. Everyone makes mistakes at some time in their lives as nobody is perfect.
I'm quite new to MyLot and am still learning on a day-to-day basis. I must admit, I am a stickler for correct spelling and punctuation, but I've always taken a huge interest in the written word. Sometimes I notice misspellings but as long as I can get the general gist of what is being written about then I've got no problem with that.

I find it sad that someone considers the Guidelines as "petty".
Whatever rocks your boat I guess

In that case I misinterpreted your response.
After reading a comment that you left on a topic the other day, indeed I did feel that you did not really consider them as petty. I am pleased that I got it wrong!

I'm not saying that the guidelines are petty, I'm saying that people need to make some allowances on how others perceive what they read as everyone has a different view.

Some of the older members do it to try to help some of the New members here, while others do it just to do it. I know there are many who have come here from time to time and started a New discussion that is against the TOS, and many might not be aware that they are doing it, or start one not realizing it will be deleted. I know myself I have accidently started some myself before. Personally what people need to remember most here, is this site is not about $$, it is about having Fun and sometimes people might forget this.

tina when I t ell a very new newbie I am not complaining I am
trying to help this person. why should I have to rewrite the whole guidelines in my response to someone when it would be quicker ans easier for them to actually just read the guidelines, why make such a big deal about this.admins tells all of us when we join to read the guidelines so complainers go take your beef
to the admins, not to older users here;.we were just trying to help very new newbies.I know this site is about having fun
and I would not stay here if I was not, but I dislike being told
I am complaining when I am not.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.older users have feelings too.

Hi Ecaron,
When someone points out the guidelines or suggests someone to read them it is to help not only that person but others who read it. By posting discussions and responses that are against the guidelines that person is not only losing themselves money but others as well. And unlike the complaining you put up with at home, you can chose to ignore a discussion if you don't like it here.

and that's the heart of myLot! You can choose to read the rest of a discussion, or go on to something that catches your interest! Or start a discussion on what YOU would like to talk about!

When a topic is not to our liking, we can (as we are informed in the Guidelines ) move on to the next one. We don't have to read it if we are going to get upset by it
Please realise that what some of us read as 'complaining' will be read by others as 'advising' too. Some are happy to read what others are fed up with seeing
By the way, those who don't read them will not know what they are doing wrong - unless they read the topics posted by those who are "complaining". It is easier for some to read a discussion than it is for them to read the Guidelines. Obviously because we are not all the same and we don't all like the same things. Sad world it would be if we did don't you think?

You are correct, mysdianait.
It would be a boring world if we all think the same. But it's an annoying world, if people just get to break a lot of rules and those rules are almost the same from the previous one.
What I did to get myself around and dodge committing mistakes when I was still a newbie was I "learned from other people's mistakes".

Well my dear I'm sorry that you consider pointing out the guidelines complaining, I consider it education and helping.
Truth be told I can understand the exasperation at times of those who've been here longer than newbies like myself, having to see the same questions over and over, questions that can be answered if people would just read.
I don't think they're complaining, I think they're actually trying to be helpful, because yes granted people can read the guidelines but the sad reality is people are too lazy to read it.
But I do understand your frustration, and hey mylot is all about expressing, and even venting, so sounds like you're under some pressure there, well you're in the right place to let it all out.
But thanks I do enjoy my time here. Mylot is really the place to be. Happy Mylotting :-)

Some would like to complain that they are not getting the results that they expect/hoped for but they don't. They notice others are active and happy here and I guess it possibly upsets them slightly. Never mind. We can't please (or even expect to please) everyone but as long as we realise that we are all entitled to our own opinions, life, both here and offline, will go on!

When I find a discussion as you mention above, I skip it and move onto another discussion. I've been a member for quite some time and do enjoy it here but I read the guidelines almost 6 years ago. I sure can't recall everything I read but know enough to stay away from starting discussions that mention different ways to earn on the internet. In other words, seeking referrals.

Whew my head is spinning! Another complaint discussion! Well we all are entiteld to our opinons and I agree it can get annoying to see all the responses about guidelines this and guidelines that but we do this to help advise the other mylotters, so they can grow with us AND so we can help prevent more complaining later on.

I'm not sure what you mean about people complaining? There are some discussions about asking people to read the guidelines because so many get their discussions deleted for being poll discussions. I don't make discussions about them. I just avoid commenting on them.
