Hey all. It's been forever. Although I haven't posted I read as much as I can.
I hve each a hectic life in the last year. But one day I backed off everything except a simple job at a pizzaa shop. No stress right?
a couple months later the owner walked in, told me i'm the new manager, moved this manager to his other store and then pretty much he walked away. So stressful. I am told all kinds of amazing things about how well I run the place but feel like I don't know the first thing about what to do.
How do you handle high stress situations?

You know something? The owner and your friends know you are good at what you do and they are right. You have only one thing to deal with, you! When they see all the confidence and competency in you, why don't you? The first rule of happiness is that you don't beat yourself! So stop doing it.
I know there will be some things where you may not have experience or knowledge. There is only one cure for that, ask and learn. I'm sure you can handle that, because you can. Tell that to yourself, and get yourself out of that worry place, you don't belong there.
Me? handling high stress situations? Well! I break up the main issue into smaller pieces and resolve those, they take care of the larger one. I am not built to handle big ones anyway!

I drive. I just jump in my car and I drive.
I recently observed myself picking up the unhealthy habit of eating anything, including things I wouldn't normLLY eat like ice cream.
Well I put on all the weight I was trying to lose and then some :-D, but basically my way of handling high stress situations is to jump in my car, go for a long drive, and think about how I'm going to deal with said situations and implement the plan.
If not a drive, I take a walk, which is great cause I had to do something to take off the pounds I gained from all the ice cream, lolll, but I love scenic views, they help me relax, and when I'm relaxed it enables me to think, which leads to problem solving, which leads to stress alleviation.
That's my method of handling high stress situations. And trust if I'm on my job, I take a cool 5 min walk, it does wonders :)

I tend to be a bit of a control freak when it comes to my OWN situation. If I am put in charge of something, great! I try to be as reasonable as possible, but as calm as possible. I feel it's better to be a manager, than to be some poor schmuck who has to do what someone else tells me against my better judgement. Take this as an opportunity to do things YOUR way!

That's why I got this position. Because i'm a control freak who does things her wayno matter what. But sometimes i have absolutly no idea what i'm doing and that's where the stress comes in. I have no training and no idea of ome things nd just risk it and i'm terrified to fail.

I find that the best way to handle that fear is to just jump in and do it. If I sat around scared all the time, I'd never try anything new. But that's just me. Haven't seen you on Facebook in ages!!

Hi Hunnie! I haven't seen you on FaceBook in ages, and I really miss you. Hope your doing well! I really don't think that you would have gotten the promotion at work if your boss didn't think you could handle it. Honestly the best thing you can probably do is just keep doing what your doing! They are telling you that your doing awesome so keep up the great work, and keep your pretty head held high! My mum always told me not to stress over what you can't control, so either control it or don't stress over it!

Honestly though, I don't think that the promotion would have been given to her if they didn't think she could do it. Also she said that she is getting praised big time, so she is definitely doing something right!

I think you're stressed due to you have no idea how to run the store as a manager huh. Why not you take up some courses regarding operations and manager, I think these courses are available in certain colleges or institutions. I found it quite useful. It maybe theoretical at first but you can gain the knowledge and apply it in your job. : )

Don't worry and don't stress too much about this new position at work. Just try to think positive and if you are feeling unsure of your tasks and responsibilities as a manager of this pizza shop then you should talk to your boss and see if he can help you out by going over your job responsibilities and what he expects from you. Maybe he can give you some training which will help you out and you can then be more sure about your job and not be so stressed out.

Take it easy. Dont let the pressure get into you. The owner chose you because he sees a potential in you. All you have to do is organize your thoughts and be confident at the task given to you. If you feel like you lack the knowledge and skills, asked someone who had done managerial jobs. Accept it, take one step at a time. God bless!

Hello Ms. Spitfire...
I always believe that God would never give us, anything that is beyond our capability and ability. Everything He gave us has a purpose, it may be for your personal and emotional, psychological or even financial growth. Or may be because He knows that you are really in need for that particular position for you to cope up with all your personal and family needs.
What you need to do is to be humble enough and learn to accept everything he has given with an optimistic attitude that he has given it to you for a good reason. You know everything is difficult if we can,t find meaning of what we are doing. But if we see the meaning on it, everything will be easy and we are always happy while doing the task.

I think the best way to handle a high stress situation is by imagining how worst it could get if you really fail. You would realise that most of the time, it would not be a big deal after all, and you can start relax and find out solutions to make things a bigger success. This way really works because it helps you to bold up and do things like a HIGH PERFORMER( bold) not a freaking person (scared).
