My daughter-in-law homeschools all 10 of her children and it is amazing the things they are learning. I think it is hugely beneficial to homeschool. Each child learns at a different level and when homeschooled they can proceed at their own pace. The universities are finding that homeschooled children are excellent students. Keep up the good work.

I homeschool my son and we didn't make the decision lightly. The school he was in was less than beneficial to his education. He has grown in leas and bounds. We go through a program that provides books, supplemental online work, and a curriculum. We have access to a teacher if we need one and he has tests (gets a report card too). I am happy we made the decision, not only is my son getting an education, we can focus on things he is struggling with and he can work at his own pace. He is happier and more successful because of that.

I am planning to homeschool my kids too, and I think it's a better choice for me and my kids. The school teachers hardly take care of every student, they just have one standard to apply on all students, but everyone is so unique and required to develop differently. As the kid is homeschooling, the parent can guide the kid according to his interest, and help him to develop to be a better him. The parents and children will have better bonding, also the parents will get to learn more.
I think if possible, homeschooling is really a good choice.

Well I've been a homeschooler since I was fourteen. As your son is still so young, I do not recommend you to allow your son to start homeschool. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed homeschooling a lot as I have a lot of free time because of that. But kids that young need to go to school to interact on a daily basis. They need to know teamwork and interaction. Also, your son needs to be super responsible if he's to homeschool. I'm not saying that he's not, but such responsibility can sometimes really stress a kid his age badly. And what about extra curricular activities? Like foodball?

If you are going to homeschool you should not do it in the middle of nowhere. I was homeschooled and lived in the middle of nowhere. When I was put into a normal school in seventh grade I didn't have the social ability I should have had by that age. I basically had to learn how to socialize like my peers already knew.

I won't object to it if the circumstances surrounding your situation is not ideal for sending you son to a public or even a private school in your district. If the teacher is capable and qualify to be a teacher, then the benefit receive by a child throigh home schooling may turn out to be the same as schooling in a classroom, the beneift(harm) can be varies with each child individually, it all depend on the personal circumstances and expectation.
