Hi There are many software available for making websites.. For designing work you can design your site stuffs using photoshop.. And about making site you can use Dreamweaver which is quite easy to use. I am dot net developer, so personally I prefer to use Visual Studio for making asp sites.. But Dreamweaver is good for the general purpose.

Hello Ganesh. In order for you to make a website, you need Adobe Photoshop for designing the logos, header, footer and images then Adobe Dreamweaver for coding. But if you are not comfortable with Adobe Dreamweaver coding environment, you can try Notepad ++, its similar to Windows Notepad but with more complex features to support editing of html, css and other file types . When it comes to previewing/inspecting your site in a browser, I recommend using Mozilla Firefox browser or Opera(because the new Opera now comes with an html/css inspector too, the only con is: Firefly application takes too long to open) over Chrome. Also, try installing these add-ons to your firefox to help you successfully design your website: 1. MeasureIt - ruler 2. Firebug - code inspector (very important for inspecting codes in websites) That's all I can recommend base on my experiences! Good luck in your website designing process! I know you can do it!

I've tried lots of software programs over the years. Some WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) software's are great, others are less so. Some amazing websites are made on even the most basic platforms. Think about what you want your site to do before spending lots of money on complex programs. However, if you are really new to web design I'd recommend not starting with software at all. Software means you need to find your web space and have an FTP client, and sort out all the bugs that make your site appear one way in one browser and totally different in another. Also software can leave very messy code, so if you want to change from one to another it can be awkward. If I was starting again I'd probably start with a pre-set, something like weebly or webs.com so I can get used to the basic html commands, if that was far too limiting I'd move into something with a lot of pre-sets but allowed for more customisation - like wordpress or joomla, with a pre-set theme. All the websites I make these day (I'm part of a small web design firm) still use wordpress. It's a bit of work to learn how to make your own theme, and I confess I've never done it, but my husband has and he can now turn any image into a working website. It's also a good thing to learn if you are looking for jobs on sites like freelancer.

Yes thanks for nice advise I totally agree with you websidte designing via simple tools is much more easier than going on for complex softwares I will try to use simple softwares like dream weaver etc to build my website ..... I never heard about wordpress what is that and how to use it ? Yes using templates makes our work easier but the drawback of using templates is that we can not make drastic changes to design and we can only change the content inside preset designed template Thanks for sharing nice information Hare Krishna Ganesh

I am not a web designer guru but I do have some basic knowledge in this area. I think the most user friendly software I use to create or design a website or a webpage is Dreamweaver. What do you think?

Definitely true! It also has that "What you see is what you get"(WYSIWYG) feature that lets users to drag n' drop images into the design area while Dreamweaver does the coding on the background. When it comes to Css coding, I highly recommend it because of its very up to date CSS3 support - thus giving you style tags(latest) that are efficient to use for most web designers. Although it has a confusing environment example the parent-tag highlighting(not automatic unlike Notepad++) overall its a very powerful tool. Especially when you're working with many PHP and Html pages for a site, its the perfect software for the job!

Ya i am agree with you all Firebug and Dreamweaver both are best free software for web designing. Firebug is powerful Firefox extension which helps you to view HTML and CSS code. It understand your page layout. Dreamweaver is also good for web designing it gives you freedom to create pages in any grid. It is first choice of many web designers.

Well I will have to ask another question what do you want this website to do? What is the job of the Website? Is it going to be a Blog in which you are going to be posting a ton of new content up to on a regular basis? Is the Website going to be a store to sell things through? What is it that you want this website to do? If you are looking for a Free Website Creator You can try Kompozer http://kompozer.net/ If you are thinking more of a blog format then I would say you can't go wrong with Wordpress.org which is a CMS (Content Management System) It is pretty easy to use and doesn't require you to know any coding at all.

Hi, There are so many options as to what you can use to create a website. Instead of Adobe software (which I believe is quite expensive) you could try www.gimp.org. Gimp software is an open source free software application that has many good graphic design features. Also you can simply use NotePad as your editor and write your own HTML and CSS. Javascript can come in handy also. I would also recommend using FireFox as your browser for development as they do have some nice add-ons. Don't forget though that your site has to look good on many browsers... Research, research, research. You should be able to find many tutorials on-line if you're stuck trying figure out how to code something. www.w3schools.com has MANY tutorials and you could try them out and see which ones you like. I think it is possible to design a site without buying virtually any software. At some point, you'll have to register your domain site which will cost a few bucks, but again do your research and compare costs. There are many places to choose from.
