Is there a way to eliminate stress at work? I think stress-free job is impossible it doesn't exist. Are you feeling the same way? Or i am just in a different world with so much deadlines in work.. Ready can't explain my feeling now. I have deadlines to meet but i cannot provide it all without getting help with other groups. My job is dependent on the reports provided to me coming from different groups. We already agreed with the timelines on when they will provide me reports. I cannot do my work without providing me those. And there your boss asking and rushing you with every thing he needs stressing you and forcing you to get it right away he needs it. ah, so stressful.

Hi, Impalco... Many of the responses to your discussion threat have presented really good ways to relieve your stress. I am going to add a few more:-
1. Make plans with your family to travel to a place that you haven't visited ever. The funds need to be available with you.
2. Try swimming, reading or some other relaxing activity at least twice per week.
3. Time management of all of your tasks at work...
See, you cannot avoid stress. It actually comes with the territory, that is, working in an organization. The next best thing is relieving the day's stress by involving your self in some relaxing activities.

Yes i kinda in the middle of stress too. The company give me an extra job, doing thing i don't like. They give me this job, with out removing the old one, and with out adding new incentive or increasing my salary. I really hate this, it make me really mad and stressed out. The old jobdesk already make me over work, the new job desk might kill me. Ughhhh

There are a few small ways to relieve stress especially at work. There may not be a complete solution to stress at work especially if you are always under pressure and always trying to meet some deadlines. But, there is a way to eliminate some of it. One thing I usually do when I'm stressed is I take a nap during breaks because it helps refresh my eyesight especially since my work requires me to work long hours in front of the computer. Try a little stretching once in a while. My friend told me, it's good to have a good stretch at least every hour. Break your tasks into small parts and try to plan ahead. And if you can't seem to finish a particular task, then ask for help. Also, taking enough rest during the weekends are really helpful. Treat yourself into buying something new for yourself of watching a really good movie or just being at home and relaxing the best way you could possibly think of. It's good to have some rest at least once a week instead of not having any. Take it easy.

I agree with penrockerchic on many of those suggestions. Once you are home, forget about work. If you can't do the work at home, separate it completely from your home life. Give yourself that break each day, or weekend, at least.

Yes I totally agree with this suggestion. RESIGN or FIRE your boss and I will show you a better way of earning better money with little stress and you can actually be your own boss and do things at your own time. If interested contact me and tell me your country.

Hi friend, stress is quite common in every work, we must come out from it and do our work with our full focus. Each and every one is facing stress and issues with their work, but still they love their job and do it for their progress. Be cool and do your work with your full interest. Don't think you are stressed, it will spoil your mood, just think you are cool and have the ability to do your work with more interest and do it with your eagerness, you will find change. All the best

I agree there is no stress-free job. The way to eliminate stress is to sleep when it’s your vacant. Double-time in doing your work. Stop thinking you are going to be stressed, it stress you more. Drink lots of water, don’t forget to eat and ask for someone who can assist you to lighten your work so you can meet the deadline.

Yeah, I agree that it's impossible for us to get rid of stress at work completely. The only thing we could do is to relieve the stress by means of different ways. Nowadays the competitions become fiercer and fiercer. In order to acquire more market shares, the companies set higher and higher aims for their employees. Working overtime and at weekends become quite normal for many people. The bosses care about nothing but consequences. They never have patience to listen to your explanations. Unable to finish your work means you lack the ability and you may lose the job.

Hi lmpalco: I don't think that would be weird at all. Actually, for people who are responsible in their job positions is normal to feel stress when they think about their goals and what they want to get. I am independent but still I feel some stress when I make plans and I have to deal with results. I am strict with myself. But at the end of the day you get the satisfaction when you see the results of your hard work.

Think of it as building a sand castle. Which structure are you going to form first? If some building is not possible to construct, what other part of the castle you can build? This way, you do not let time pass without doing something. The problem you said many things are missing. Then back to the sand castle, bring as much sand as possible that is enough to finish the castle. I only thought of it this way now but I think it helps to imagine your project like this.

What I find helpful is to begin the day with making a list. You could include Priority, stuff that can wait, stuff that can wait forever, etc. etc. - in other words - prioritize what needs to be done. Sometimes when we are stressed out and have demands coming at us left and right, we forget that not everything must be done this very minute. Some things can wait - even if only an hour - while others do need immediate attention. When faced with ten things at once, try to prioritize them and realize you cannot do them all at the same time, and if you try, not one of them will get your full attention. Sometimes we can attend to part of something to get it started, then go on to the next thing, and so on. At times, you need to walk away for a five or ten minute break just to give your head time to sort it all out. There are a lot of people who want everything done yesterday.
I don't know how approachable your boss is. Is it possible to tell him or her, "I understand you need such and such today. I can do this much without the report from so and so, but until I get the report, I can't go further."
Good luck!
