People amaze me you know.
A co-worker of mine just gave me a donation sheet to contribute to the purchase a wreath for a funeral, for someone I dont't know. But that's not my issue, because if I had the money I would've glady given it to them.
Then last night I received a tex message from someone, who was having problems paying their mortgage, and earlier this year,I had helped them with a substantialto make payments on their mortgage, so they sent me another tex asking for help. But's that's not my issue either, if I could've helped them again I would without hesitation.
Over the last few months I've had several indiviuals approach me for money for one cause or the other. But that's not my issue, once I'm able to help will.
So what's my issue, you may ask.
Well after having to endure the sufferation, misery, near financial ruin, tears and the pain of driving old cars for over 6 or 7 years, GOD in heaven above found it suitable to bless me with a new car.
Yes, last year November I was able to drive out the Nissan dealership with a brand new Nissan Tiida 2011.
But apparently EVERYBODY thinks I'm loaded, full of money,rich because I'm driving a new car.
Nobody is considering that I've a loan to pay on that new car, nobody is considering that I'm a single woman who is also paying a mortgage in addition to my car loan and that I've minor bills to pay.
No people ain't seeing that, all they're seeing is a new car.
It's pretty much starting to tick me off, because nobody knows the sacrifice I'm making to have my new car, nobody is helping me and quite frankly I'm not asking for anybody to help me, but I can't appreciate the fact that because I'm driving a new car, it's a reason for everybody and their brother to ask me for money.
I mean c'mon. Truth be told I wish I was full of money so that I could help people out. I'm a christian who believe in GOD and his goodness and his blessings, and I hold the opinion that if GOD can bless me, he can also use me to bless other people.
I don't believe in hoarding up my wealth. So my response to my co worker was " I honestly don't have the funds right now, and if I could, I would" she walked away and told me she understood,truth be told even if she didn't understand it wouldn't have mattered to me because simply put...Nobody knows.

We all make sacrifices at times, especially if it's for things we want. I understand where you are coming from, you would love to help them if you could, but with so many people asking it's getting a bit of a bother.
After awhile I wonder if they will just start believing you are being selfish in some way or another. I don't know that I'd want to explain why you can not help, as it's really no one's business. However, if you do explain "hey look, I got this new car last year after saving up and I've had to make sacrifices so that I could have it. I'm not better off now, i'm struggling, so I truly can't help you though I wish that I could."

I love your expalanation and that's exactly what people are going to start hearing from me and yes there is talk going around among a faction of individuals that I think I'm better than people now that I'm driving a new "bimmer",and that I'm moving selffish, but I don't live to please people,so they can just bite me.

Nice one. So again people are just the same everywhere. :) I really understand your situation as I am also in it. Apart from the religion side, of course we would help everyone if we could. But look, people will always comment on everything we have. See about 5 years from now and you finally can buy a new house. People won't think about HOW you can buy the house, they will only think that you CAN. It means that you have the money. So ignore those people, as they won't stop talking. I like what SomeCowgirl has said, it's enough to shut them up. :D

Nobody really knows how you sacrificed just to get a new car. Everybody think that you have lots of money because you have just bought a car without even knowing that you have loaned for it. I know you have a good heart. You love helping people out there. If you only have plenty of money you will help people without hesitation.
