making money = wrecking peace ?

we all have to (most of us) earn our living through some means or others, but at what cost. is it really worth earning money on one hand and losing peace on the other hand. which is to be compromised...money or peace ?

what is the alternative, one has to work for money to be able to live, I can't see any other way unfortunately.
