I am very clueless when it comes to buying a house. me and my husband really want a house of our own so we stop throwing our money away by paying rent somewhere. i do not currently work since its more beneficial to stay at home with my 3 young children since none are in school yet. My husband makes enough to qualify for a mortage but does not have a social security number so the few lenders i talked to said i would have to get it in my name with a cosigner which i have no one that would be able to cosign for me. is there anyways we can get a mortgage in our names ??? does anyone know of any lenders that still will do itin mortgages{mortgage with your tax id number}?????

Why does your husband not have a social security card? If he is a legal resident of the United States, he shoulds he should have one so that when he ritires, he can collect social security and you can also collect from his if he should die before you. Do you have any credit cards? If so then check hyour credit scores and try to correct them before you think about getting a house. dol not try to get a cosigner (unless it is your husband and hyou said that he is not credit worthy becaulse he does not have a social security card. Correct this so that your hour huaband can qualify for a mortaqe. Let us know how yoiu make out. You might also check with some lenders such as large banks to see what they say as to your qualifying for a mortage.

He was brought here very uoung by his parents and is not a citizzen or resident. I was told my credit is good but i do not have an income or jobb so would not be able to get anything without a cosigner with a descent income. Im not sure y they will not include my husbands income as my source of income but was told by wdellsfargo if no social then they cant check his credit so he cant get anything either. Im just confused by it all

Have you thought about him becoming a citizen? That way he can get his social security card and start getting credit. Do you have a large amount put in a bank for the down payment? Does he have any credit cards or loans that he pays on time? If so then the credit beaurals shoud have something on him with out a SS card.It woud be best if he does get a SS card so that he can get credit scores of his own.

I think if I stay in my hometown, I will not have the ability to buy my own house through my whole life. If I try to find a good job in a small city, I may have the chance to buy a house of my own at the year of 35. The house price is high in China, maybe the highest in the world. A house will cost more than 20 years income, so in most case, young man will ask their parents for help. I now give up the dream to buy my own house now. But use the money to do something meaningful instead. Maybe 10 years late, when the house price goes down, I will buy a house of my own. I do not like mortage, I think it is a way to limit my freedom.
