I am a newbie at using makeup and I would like to ask what are the basic things I need in my makeup kit and how do I achieve a look that doesn't make me look too made up?

Basics you need are: foundation, concealer (one for undereyes and one for blemishes) eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and/or lipgloss, blush, bronzer, and highlighter. You may also need a brown product if your brows are sparse or unruly. Tools: eyelash curler, makeup brushes, lash comb, brow comb.

I suggest too that you check makeup tutorials in Youtube. They're really helpful. For starters, I suggest you invest in a good foundation, and also natural-looking lipstick. A natural color blush too.

When I was just starting my makeup kit, I only have a powder foundation, lip and cheek stain, eyebrow pencil, eyelash curler, and mascara. Lip and cheek stains look really natural on lips than lipsticks. They make your lips look naturally red o pink depending on the stain color you choose. They can also be used for cheeks and it looks also natural.

You need some eyebrow pencil, lipstick, eye shadow, eyeliner and a blusher. You can check and watch in youtube on how to apply make-up.

I hate looking like I'm wearing makeup, so I've learned how to use it without looking like I have any on. I have my two basic products that I use every day: Foundation & Mascara. I don't leave the house without those two things on my face. Foundation just adds a little extra color to the face and covers any blemishes you might have. And mascara makes your eyes pop. It also makes the bags under my eyes (I have a teething 8 month old, so I don't get much sleep) look less noticeable. If I'm going out for drinks with the girls, I'll usually add some eyeliner and light eye shadow. I put liner only on my upper lids, then I'll put light-colored eye shadow over the eye liner to make the line lighter, and even change the color of the liner. I use blush sometimes to make my cheekbones more noticeable. If you don't have blush, you can use light pink eye shadow and just spread it evenly over your cheekbones. And of course its always nice to top it all off with some lip gloss.

You could go for a Korean make up style. Just put BB Cream/Foundation (I would be recommending you a mineral foundation though because it lets your skin breathe so you would prevent yourself from having pimples even when putting on make up) and make sure to hide or conceal dark spots and blemishes. Choose a tone closest to your natural shade. Use a lipstick that is not far from the real color of the lips and use a light shade of apricot or pink for your blush on. Avoid putting on too much eyeshadow to make it look natural but if you want to, you can use a cream colored eyeshadow or gold to make it look elegant but simple. For the eyes, you could also use a liquid eyeliner and just put a thin line across your eyelids then follow with mascara. The key to a natural look is to make it look very near to the actual shade of your face. I hope this helps. :)

i am very minimalist. I use a tinted moisturizer, loose powder, blush, eyeshadow and mascara. To avoid looking too made up, choose shades that are subtle. I have blue eyes and like a soft mossy green eye shadow. My blush is very pale pink. So I put on the moisturizer and then the powder. I have a big fluffy brush that I use after the powder to get off any excess. then a light dusting of blush for just a hint of color. Then the eyeshadow and mascara. I can't do eyeliner, so I don't. I want to look nice, not like I have makeup on.

My makeup kit includes face powder, lipstick and mascara. I just put light powder on, then lipstick and a bit of mascara for my everyday look. I don't put blush-on and eyehadow because it makes me look too made up. I only put them on when I attend special occassions or parties.
