Vacation in the Philippines !

I plan to go on holyday in the Philippines. This place is exotic and very different than Europe. For that reason I'm not sure that the visit of such an exotic place would like to me. I don't know much about the Philippines so please anyone who has been there or who lived there to tell me more about this country and recommend places to visit there! Thank you :)

I know I should be encouraging you but I won't.
If you want to stay safe and whole keep away from where I'm from. I'm from the southern part of the Philippines, in Mindanao. War between fellow Filipinos are going still going on around this island. But Davao is okay.
Visayas is your safest bet compared to Luzon and Mindanao. So find vacation spots located there. (Sorry for those people who lived in Luzon, and wishes this guy to visit your place.) Many things happen to these two largest part of the country. But then again...anywhere you go in this country is never a sure thing that you'll be safe.
I know people would really want to give me a negative right now, but this is merely a warning--a caution for foreign and native people to be on guard and try to stay safe...and whole.

Hmmm. Yes it is a fact that some areas in the Philippines is not an ideal place to spend your vacation. But I do agree in your sugesstion to chose Visayas. If you want to visit the beach you could choose Boracay. It is a popular destination among foreigners. But for me it is a bit crowded as I like the places I visited to be more inhabited :D or less people so that I can appreciate the place.I recommend Panglao beach in Bohol, it still has white sand, less people. Dumaguete also have many great beaches to visit. Or you could try some of our exotic food like Bulot:P But the best thing that I could advise someone visiting Philippines is to have fun!....and do some research to make your vacation worthwhile. :D

You could visit the Under Ground River of Puerto Princesa Palawan - one of the new seven wonders of nature. Or tried beach of Boracay :D

My friend, if ever you go to the Philippines, go to the Bicol Region. You can visit Caramoan and see the beautiful beaches where Survivor (International version) was filmed.
Then you can go to Camarines Sur, and experience the CAmarines Water Complex, where sometimes there are international competitions for wake boarding.
Then go to Albay and see the famous Mayon Volcano. You can also go to Misibis Resort, a beautiful private resort in the midst of mountains.
Those are some of the places here in Bicol, but there are a lot more beautiful places in the Philippines actually.

My friend, you made the right choice of place for vacation. I hope you will really visit Philippines. Anyway, there are a lot of beautiful places which you could visit from Luzon to Mindanao. I suggest you visit Boracay Beach in Aklan. It is a white sand beach and there many foreigners who go in there. You could also visit Cebu, the Queen City of the South. I hope you will enjoy Philippines in case you will visit!

Even if Europe is more of a mountainous parts, I'd still love to recommend my place which is the Cordilleras -- the most mountainous part in the Philippines. You did not mention what interests you most but perhaps, these parameters can catch some of your desires -- mountain trailing, sailing and spelunking towards the deepest bowel of the earth inside the cave passing lots of big and small chambers which all looks majestic as its ceiling are dotted with stalactites glowing and sparkling in the dark.

Yes I'm from Europe but I'm not from region with mountains... but i like mountains. In many northern parts of my country it snows in winter but in place is nice and hot :). Here the Philippines are known with its beaches so it will be interesting to visit this unknown mountainous part . Thank you !

I have never been to the Philippines but it looks like a place one would enjoy vacationing in. I did some research for you and to be honest it looks like a place with too many rules and regulations. For example if you wear a short skirt you cannot even be allowed in a police station. you have a lot of choices when go to the Philippines...they have lots of beautiful beaches there,good foods and most people understand and speak english...if you are planning to go swimming try the palawan island they have good beachs there and also an underground river and also a crocodile farm which is also like a zoo..

Hi there! It's summer here in the Philippines so be prepared to get sweat, the best summer killer is the Beach, you can go to Boracay or Puerto Princesa Underground River. We also have beautiful Bohol if you want to see the tiniest Monkey in the world. There are lot's of tourist attraction so all you have to do is ask a tourist guide or agency on where is the best spot in the Philippines. Thank you for choosing Philippines and have a good time.

Philippines is a nice place,you can do a lot things here if you visit.You can go beaches,places and etc.
You will be surprise how wonderful our place so enjoy the trip here and sure that you are safe.. i am from philippines

Hi Sir. If you are planning to have a visit in the Philippines, please make sure you include our place to your itinerary. The Bicol Region. We have a lot of places that I'm sure you will love. There is the Mayon Volcano located at Albay. Just an hour plane ride from Manila. There are lots of place where you can stay during your stay at this place at very low price yet comfortable and safe. Just remember, Legazpi City is implementing a NO SMOKING ordinance. You can also visit the place of the Whale shark. Donsol, Sorsogon which is an hour land trip from Legazpi City. There are lots of other places that you can visit in our place! I'm sure you will enjoy your stay here.
