Almost got into a verbal altercation a few miuntes ago with a patient, who verbally accosted me even I though I said "excuse" and asked permission to speak to a collegaue of mine, who is also a health worker, on behalf of another patient
It's very disconcerting to me, this temper I seem to have "picked up" lately and I don't quite know how to shake it, but I need to 'cause I think it's affecting my health.
Yesterday after doing a blood pressure test which revealed that I've high blood pressure, I deceided to adopt a calmer approach to situations, but it doesn't seem to be working.
I never had a temper before, until about a year ago, when I found myself getting intensely angry at people, situations and circumstances.
An anger which sometimes resulted in me shouting, crying and even throwing things. Several incidents over the course that year served to precipitate my behavior.
I'm not that kind of girl, I want to go back to being the kind of girl that is calm in the midst of a "rock the boat" situation, but I've seemed to lost my way.
How do I get back to a calmer me?????

Hi success, everytime I have a temper, or I am going to be mad, I will remember the verse in bible. James 1:19 "Therefore, my beloved bethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath(anger)" This amazing verse has helped me a lot in controlling my temper, hope it helps you too. :)

thanks darling that is a great scripture verse to remember. I just hope that when I start to get angry, I take enough time to remember it,lol.
You know how sometimes when a person gets angry the rage gets in the way and they toss everything, including sense out of the window.
But thanks, I really am hoping it helps me too

The main problem of temper is blood pressure may high. So try to control it I know some time it is very hard to control it. But try and leave this place for some time if anyone is doing argument with you and you are loosing your temper then leave this place.

I agree with a relaxation activity/anger management, adjusting your diet by removing any additional salt and reducing the amount of processed foods and lowering your fat intake.
I also think that you could try approaching a homeopath that does hair testing for nutrition and food allergies. You could easily have a nutritional imbalance or be lacking in something lately that could cause this.
You could also have developed a hormonal imbalance that is causing this to happen. If you find that it's getting any worse, definitely look into it and perhaps speak to someone about it.

Personally I don’t have any anger issues and I thank God for that. Temper gets people in very awkward situations. Again one can end up hurting people that they love and some actions are very hard to take back. Martial arts are a very good way of learning how to control your temper because it requires complete control of your mind, body and soul. You can also try yoga and specialize in meditation. Breathing exercises are also good for controlling your temper.
