Hi mylotters,
What do you do to lose weight? Do you just exercise or do you also take food supplements and energy drinks? I just run on the treadmill at home whenever I have time usually in the morning before I get ready for work and at night on days I'm not working. I've discovered something new to help me maintain my weight and health. Any one wanna try?

hi usaflove08.
for the past months, i've just been more active physically and i eat smarter and healthier now. instead of using the elevator, i use the stairs and i've also built a stand up work station in my desk. instead of sitting after lunch, i stand instead for a good 30 minutes to one hour. i also do exercises in my work area like simple stretching exercises for the arms and legs. i also do a couple of push-ups and jumping jacks much to the surprise of my colleagues. i also drink a lot of water since it helps curb my appetite.
about eating smarter and healthier, i just have fruits or nuts for snacks instead of sweets. i've also cut down eating carbs such as rice. i mostly eat fish and chicken now and it is usaully steamed or grilled. no fried food for me for the past six months or so. i've also eaten a lot of oatmeal and grains and i never ever skip breakfast.
hope this helps and good luck in your quest to lose and maintian an ideal weight for your body.
i'll come back here and post a couple of meal plnas i have done in the past that have helped me lose weight.
cheers!!!

I try to work out a few times a week (when I can find the time!). I also have been cutting back on late night snacking and eating more home cooked food rather than fast food full of fat! I struggle because one of the medications that I am on causes weight gain. But I need the medication so I am stuck dealing with the weight gain and battling it the best I can!

I only just do some basic exercises such as push ups, situps and jogging every other day. Of course, I have to minimize eating more rice and stick to eating fruits, vegetables and meat so that to maintain my weight and balanced my health. If I have no time to do outdoor exercises, I tend to work out by push ups, situps and some alternative body weight exercises which my only tool is a bench.

Just being very conscious with what I eat and how I use my body tends to help keep me where I need to be. I tend to mainly eat natural foods and watch the GL and GI of the food. This way, i can eat whatever I want...just the right foods.
The right foods are often very delicious foods. Another thing I watch is how I prepare the food...no frying or at least very little frying, and eating foods as close to its natural state as possible.
Keeping in mind that overheating kills nutrients.
Lastly, exercise. I do this because I love it and the benefits are for the mind, the body and the soul. So, I do nothing complicated...I am just very conscious about what I consume and I how I move. I do not buy energy drinks, diet supplements or any of those products.
As I have heard it said: "Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels". I agree (-:

Dear friend,
My ways of keeping fit is eat well and work well. I just eat what ever things I like and sweat it out at gyms or do my own rouite excerises. I consider jogging is best for reducing weight. Jogging may be continuousely for one hour every day is sure to reduce weight. I had seen this in my neigbour who was like a pig turning to a slim beauty.....

I am in the process of losing weight. My winter weight and then some, with any luck. What I have been doing is just exercising ~4 days a week (1 hour per day) and eating much much better - I am not eating fast food (with the exception of a side salad here or there) and I am drinking tons and tons of water. I feel like it's making a huge difference. I really don't 'believe' in taking any kind of supplements, as I think they are all pretty much a big scam! Best of luck to you in your weight loss/staying in shape!

Hi Usaflove and welcome to my lot. Me I used to be really heavy. I started eating Special K cereal and walking 3 miles a day, I lost a lot of weight and still after 5 years have kept it off. I eat what ever I want in small portions and am still real busy working in my yard. What are you eating to stay healthy?

For now, I am in my own weight-loss strategies. I just researched some articles on the net on how to lose weight effectively. I don't drink any supplements for wieht loss. I just reduced my carb intake (rice) and increase my fiber intake (oatmeals, fruits, and vegetables), take some healthy protein (fish, tuna). I took early jogging at least 30-45 minutes every other day, and sit-ups and push-up as alternate when I don't take jogging. Now I already lost about 17 pounds since 2nd week of January.

The best thing to do to lose weight is exercise. I know this could be so hard for most of us, but i believe this is only the solution. It's a natural way to loose weight. I haven't tried taking pills or food supplements or anything, because i don't that those will work.

I commute going home instead of driving my car and walk from the entrance of our village to our house. Try drinking water and not any of those flavored drinks. I dont suggest drinking pills or any of those "weight loss" products. The weight just manages to bounce back and you may even feel heavier once you stop drinking these pills. Also, many of these products are not BFAD approved so its kinda scary to just take in these supplements without knowing that they may contain dangerous ingredients.

A simple and hard stuff should we do is exercise. Why i telling this because dietary practice is something is out of control. We as a human forget to controlling in any inherent our healthy lifestyle. This is why many of the question is come out? We cannot stop from eating and eating and cannot stop even run away from it. It is all which amount we taken to control body weight.
I never tell anyone to stop eating but eat less avoid you from fat and also disease. Being fat easily obtain a dangerous disease. My suggestion is just took a eating less of food at night, it is doesn't matter took how much you eat in day.
Final touch, just concern your health. This is what i saying do exercise daily for 10 to 20 minutes per day.

Stay away from processed foods. Natural unprocessed foods are the best for you.
Eat a small meal every 2-3 hours, this makes your metabolism much better.
Drink enough water, applying only this to your diet can make you get huge results!
THINK FIBER NOT CARBS!
Real food is more important than supplements, but some (whey protein, multivitamin, omega-3 fat things) work.
If you want to do cardiovascular exercise, you should do HIIT (High Interval Intensity Training) Cardio. It doesn't really burn fat when you're performing it, but the loss of fat is greater AFTER the exercise than you would lose while doing long boring cardio.
One cheat day in a week, for example on sundays, eat whatever you want.
Bodyweight strength training circuits are a great way to lose fat, you should do them.
3 workouts per week, like this:
Day 1 workout
Day 2 rest
Day 3 workout
Day 4 rest
Day 5 workout
Day 6 rest
Day 7 rest + the cheat day
That's pretty much what I do.
