Before I don't play games on my laptop simply because of specs problem. Now that I have new laptop I want to play games. Problem is that I don't know what is in or what is popular computer games right now. I'm wondering if anyone of you play games. Before I play the games like civilization, roman empire and the likes and also basketball.

just go with starcraft 2 if u love strategy and dota for multiplayer, modern warfare is also fun to, and you can play Skyrim, Arkham city for action and adventure, there are hundreds of cool games right now, even free to play like HoN, DC Universe Online Rusty Hearts or so, u just have to pick a genre and search for it

Thanks. Anyway its seems starcraft is still in? I played that about six years ago. I'm surprise that its still popular. I'm wondering what happen to battle realm. I also like that game also. But I guess that one did not survive like starcraft.

but not just starcraft 1, but the 2 that came out in 2010, also Diablo 3 is coming and that's an awesome game as well... but yeah, starcraft was so good it could only be replaced by his own sequel

It really depends on how much you have to spend and what you like doing. Personally, I'd like Guild Wars 2. But I can't afford $60 for just one game right now. Instead, what I do is buy game bundles. That way, I can try out a variety of games for a low price. Right now, Indie Royale, Indie Gala, Groupees and Humble Bundle are the ones I check regularly. They've had some pretty nice games. There's also Indie Face Kick, Indie Fort from GamersGate and even Steam itself has a couple of indie bundles right now. I'm sure that there are others that I'm not aware of right now. Are these going to be as well-developed as Skyrim or Guild Wars 2? Not really. But I've still gotten some fun games, helped charity and paid a nice low price besides.

That's good. Although I want to try new games right now I think I'm going to have busy six months right now. I'm trying to find a job right now if I can find a job and settle down then I'm going to play games again for relaxation.

Can you give specific game? So that I can check. I really don't check the maker of the games I played before. Before I play civilization, roman empire and age of empires but I don't now who created this game and since I did not play for five years now I don't know much or anything about the current trend.javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMainContent$lbStart','')

It really depends on what type of games you play. I personally like games where I started playing from the first release of the game. I like the continuity of the game. I played the games Fallout(Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3 and Fallout Las Vegas), Doom(Doom 1-3), Warcraft(1-3 and all its extensions), Starcraft(Starcraft, Broodwars, Wings of liberty). Diablo(1 and 2, I'm waiting for 3 to be released) I like the evolution of the stories in these games and I enjoy the experience in watching how the game itself evolves, you can actually see the difference in the graphics and the gameplay. I don't usually play these games in their multiplayer mode but rather on the single player aspects of these games.

To be honest I don't like diablo. I'm more on realistic type. Like civilization, roman empire and empire earth. But I do like playing warcraft its maybe because of the battle thyme. Starcraft I some how don't like because of the fast past of the game and unlike the roman empire or empire earth that theirs a history or to follow on in other games its all about brutal fights.

The latest Civilization game is Civilization V. There are also some other new strategy games out there, like Total War: Shogun 2, Anno 2070, and Frozen Synapse. All of these have been pretty well-rated. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was named Game of the Year in 2011. Problem is, it has fairly high system requirements and most laptops are not designed for gaming. Do some research on what the requirements are for games like this, and whether your laptop will support them.

If you're looking into the competitive scene, you might wanna check out games like League of Legends and Starcraft II. Both have huge followings and are currently pretty "hot". Startcraft II (SC2) you have to buy but it's a 1 time deal, and has an amazing amount of content both offline and online. League of Legends on the other had is completely FREE, it's fairly new about 2~years old and has gone from small time to international during that time. Huge tournaments with cash prizes are being hosted and streamed. It's worth a try if you're looking for something to kill time with, and who knows you might even be able to go pro.
