Do you take Vitamin C supplement everyday? How many mg. of vitamin C do you take? I personally don't like to take vitamin C supplement. I just like to eat fruits that are rich in vitamin C. My friend were selling me vitamin C supplement coz she said we really need it daily. According to her, we need to take 1000 mg of vitamin C and that's what she takes daily so that she will not get sick and you don't get overdose with it since our body needs vitamin c. I don't agree with her by taking 1000 mg. of vitamin c everyday. Do you think my friend is right?

I don't take Vitamin C supplement since I regard it as a kind of medicine. And all medicine will somewhat have some side effects. And this is why I prefer to obtain the Vitamin C from the natural food such as the orange. I think this is will be healthier. I love China

Good thing this Vitamin C tablets are very expensive. If they cost thousands, I'll prefer to get sick than to buy.

Vit C is water soluble meaning that excess amount will just get excreted through your urine. But you know too much of something is bad.If she wants to prevent sicknesses, she must not be dependent on VIt C alone. She must live a healthy life.

I have been told that Vitamin C can help me become whiter, so I have asked doctor to give me a bottle of vitamin C pills. But I do not form the habit to take it regularly. i only take them when I think about it. But I think I will not be lack of vitamin C in my daily life. Usually I will take more than two oranges a day, and take in vegetable every meals. So I think I can take in enough vitamin C. In my eyes, the one who have more fruits and vegetables usually looks younger than those who do not take enough.

Wow! I just realized I am taking too much of what is needed. I always take 2 500 mg tablets a day. As per the instructions, adult should take 1 tablet everyday. Whenever I stop taking Vitamin C tablet, I am getting sick, and it usually takes a week or two before I get well. I think I'm already dependent on this supplement.

If we take more of what we have always been told is the right amount, gradually, then we will not overdose. The more we take the better we are. You are right to get it from fruits and veggies first but a supplement won't hurt either. The FDA tells us alot less than we actually need. The same with Vitamin D.

That's my case. I am always taking 2 tablets everyday, but as per the dosage preventive, it should be 1 tablet for adult.

I take vitamin C supplement each day, quite a large dose 3000 mgs, but it does not totally protect me from infections like colds or flu as it is claimed to do. The better vitamin is Vitamin D and it's best source is from the sun, but not too much.. Depending on your skin, you'll need to make sure that you don't burn from the sun, some people need more than others. My skin will burn very easily, so I spend say around 20-30 minutes in the sun with my skin exposed, but will then cover up. During the winter-time I will take vitamin D pills and I rarely get flu or colds these days. It is good to do a search on "the benefits of vitamin D" or visit Dr. Mercola's site at mercola.com where has quite a lot of information on it. It is always better to get our vitamins from natural sources than in tablet form though... _Derek

I do take 2 tabs of Vit C daily to prevent common colds or flu and to help my immune system since we live in a tropical country, where the weather change a lot from sunny to rainy. When I was still studying, a lot of my professors told my class that Vit C usually doesn't have an overdose since it is a water soluble vitamin, meaning excess vitamin c inside our body will just be excreted directly through urination. Other vitamins like Vitamin A is a fat soluble so it will remain to our body and will not excreted easily if take too much of it. So I guess in some way, your friend is ok if she take 1000mg of vit c a day.

I know that vitamin C is good for you, but I don't take that supplement in particular. I try to make sure I take a multi-vitamin every day - I do think it's important, too! But I think that only has 50% of my vitamin C needs. But I should get the rest of what's needed through what I eat & drink. Orange juice is chock full of it!

I was told that vitamin c with rose hips is best and 1000mg. helps fights colds and etc. use to take it but now prices and things are so high cannot afford to take anymore regular. however fruits are better if you can afford it everyday. also it is way too high to buy and travel to get everyday as gas price to. so what I think is best to have both around when you can afford it and take when you can. there is vitamin c in what you eat also besides fruits only just read the side of the can or jars. I do think your friend is right in taking vitamins ..however check it out for not all are good because some have other ingrediants like sugar and does not explain what part hurts ya and what part does not..check out the company and the what it has in it and go from there ..good luck..

I am taking VITAMIN C as one of my supplements. I take a thousand mg. per day! My professor told me that 500mg is enough everyday and if you get sick like colds, cough etc. you should take 1000mg. BUT in my case I took 1000mg because I have two purposes. One is to make my skin fairer and second is to avoid sicknesses. My bf's mom is a nurse and she told us that it's okay and there is no such thing as over dosage because when you take too much you'll just end up visiting the bathroom more often (pee). BUT of course do not over use taking it. 1000mg would do =)

Vitamin supplements are usually organic and natural substances which are needed for people for being fit and strong. Almost all vitamin supplements can be obtained from your healthful and also different well-balanced diet regime. Typically vitamin supplements are split up into fat soluble kinds and additionally water-soluble kinds. Fat -soluble natural vitamins are located in oily ingredients including dairy food, plant oils and also animal fat. Your body requires this type of nutritional each day however, you won't have to take in the above mentioned foods everyday given that fat -soluble vitamin supplements are usually assimilated inside our intestinal tract together with excess fat and saved in our own lean meats. Natural vitamins A, D, E and also K are usually fat -soluble. http://www.thevitaminmag.com/what-vitamins-should-i-take/

I do take vitamin c and I took 1000mg everyday and I think it is fit for my age and also on the type of environment where I lived. I lived in the city with lots of pollution and I just to be preventive in what viruses I might get. I love my kids too that I don't like to pass any virus from them. Sometimes I skipped eating fruits whenever is available and also I'm not sure if the fruits that I've eaten gives me enough vitamins since it is known also farmers using chemicals to use as there fertilizers and pesticides to protect them from pest.

I think we don't need to take vitamin C supplement everyday. Because if we eat fresh fruit everyday, we are provided full of vitamin C. Some fresh fruit are rich in vitamin C are: papaya, Orange,... And vitamin C from fruit is better than synthesis vitamin. If we use much vitamin C will make trouble of transformed material in your boddy.

I don't. But I think I'm taking vitamin C on another way, through my daily meal. I think we need vitamins, but we shouldn't take more than we need, it couldn't bring benefits for our health. I can't say exactly how much vitamin C we need, but I found this link, that you can open, and there it's said that it depends from age how much we need daily. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/fy/fy21500.pdf

I do not take any supplements and is unnecessary to do unless you have a serious deficiency. Eating a balanced diet is what is important.

Vitamin c is important to strengthen our immune system. It is recommended to take 500-1000mg of it c daily. Yes, it can be acquire to the fruits and veggies we eat but sometimes our lifestyle will demand more of vit. C. Depending on the person who is constantly in stress or works in a strssful environment, i think he/she needs to take the supplement. It is a water soluble vitamin so less chances of getting overdose as it can be excreted through your urine. But also I have read once that too much vit c can cause renal stones or kidney stones. Too much is not good and too less is not good also. I personally do not drink vitamin c daily, as I always forget to drink my medicines:). But when I feel like my immune system to be weaken, for example I am having body malaise and starting to have low grade fever or runny nose. I always make sure to drink vitamin c daily and increase my fluid intake. It has been effective for me through the years. I usually do not drink cough or cold medicines. Just keeping my immune system back to being strong.
