We have a fire pit anywhere it's legal to do so. Two miles from here in Minneapolis, they are considering banning the currently legal pits for several reasons. The same people who brought us the smoking ban are now saying the smoke from these pits is as bad as cigarette smoke among other things and people are supporting bringing it to a vote. Not only was I expecting this maneuver I also think the idea won't die until it eventually gets voted into law. Next will be charcoal grills. It will slowly seep into neighboring suburbs. Then when you go to the manufacturing area where you can actually see and smell the emissions in the air from these facilities. Huge stacks billowing tons of pollution into the air, but it's so far from the city no one pays much attention to it. The Mississippi river is not very far away and you know it suffers the affects of the run off from ground water. The area is known as Pine Bend. Few people live there. Many people work there. To me this is very interdicting.

All my neighbors have them but I don't as the only time I have a fire is at our camper.....and it's legal to use them there.....We used to have a plant here that caused pollution and it burned down and they didn't rebuild....it was stinky as well as added all kinds of smoke etc to the air....I was glad when it was gone except for all the jobs that were lost when they left town.....that was hard on the whole city.
