I've never been very conversational. I felt that if i said somethng,i would be shunned. My mother is very shy,and i guess that's why i became the same way. I dont feel that i have the ability to say anything that is meaningful. And my solution is to be with people who are outgoing because i feel that they can take over the conversation. Although i know extreme shyness can be a real problem. At the very least it can hnder me from enjoying friendshps. And it can also make it hard for me to feel comfortable or function well in social settings. Does anyone here felt the same way too? What are some ways you did for you to become more outgoing yourself?

Oh I am the same way! I am getting better though. I just keep trying. I force myself to try to make conversation. Look up online some good conversation starters. Sometimes that helps. I've found the more I try and the more I talk to people the more I find people are actually pretty nice and can be fun to talk to. Picture the worst that can happen in your head, realize that is highly unlikely to happen (but if it does, you'll most likely still be okay), then go for it! Things will be okay. Life is too short for us shy people to not talk to others! Good luck :) Feel free to message me, perhaps we can help each other.
