Why is the Bible so trashed?

These are my thoughts. An intelligent and wise person should have a scientific attitude. A scientific attitude requires inquisitiveness, rationality and a need to investigate results further, so meaning you just do not believe and believe from what was being said by others unless proven through experimentation and study, then you will come to believe that fact. You see, there are people who are saying that there is no GOD. Lets ask the Bible, who is that people who are saying that there is no GOD. According to Psalms 53:1 and it reads: "The fool says in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good."(Psalms 53:1) Let me ask you these questions, what are you using right now to make and respond to a discussion here in myLot? Perhaps you are using a laptop, a desktop computer or maybe a smartphone. Granting that you are using a computer, is there someone who made the computer? Obviously, you will say YES. Why? Because it is a common knowledge to everyone that the computer will not exist by itself if there is no one who made it. Have you ever seen a computer gathered and assembled by itself? Where did you see microchips, motherboard, metals, sound card and memory card assembled together by itself? Even if you go to the forest and dig a tunnel in the mountain, you will never ever find a computer unless someone made it. In fact, in order for you to invent and make a computer, you must first need to go to school and study extensively, then after a thorough study, then you will be able to create a computer with the help of certain technologies right now. Now, if that computer which has no life, made of metals and plastic, usable only with the use of an electricity or battery and has come to exist only because someone made it, which is more complex and complicated that was being created and invented, the computer or the brain of a human being? Obviously, our brain is far more complex and superior than the most latest and expensive computers available now in the market. Why? Because it is our brains who tell our body to make and assemble a computer, plus the computer will not function if it is not being operated by human being under the influence of our brain. In fact, we are far more better than the computer. Our body has a microphone which is the vocal cord, our body has a receiver which is our ear, our body has a camera which is our eyes, and we also have computer inside our body which is our brain, which is far more superior and superb than the latest computer that was invented by human being in the history. Why? Our brain can tell our body to smell while the man-made computer cannot even smell and our brain can function our body to taste while the man-made computer cannot. So with all the above explanations, which is now more complicated and complex that was created and invented, your brain or your computer that you bought in the shop? Definitely and absolutely, our brain is far more complicated and complex. Now, if you believe that there is someone who made and invented the computer which you are using right now here in myLot, what more your brain and your human body. Of course, there is really someone Almighty who made our brain and our body. And if someone made our brain and our body, the earth and universe are far far more complex and complicated than us human being. Why? Because the universe is made of billions and billions of galaxies and billions and billions of stars and the earth runs and rotates in the solar system without even using a single gasoline or fuel and this is very complex. Now, it is very impossible without a shadow of a doubt that no one made and created the universe, earth, sun, stars, moon, and others. You are believing in simple things like the computer, cellphone, television, radio, microwave, refrigerator that someone made it and now here comes the more complicated and complex one which are the plants, animals, human being, earth, universe and you do not believe that someone made it? Where is your logic and brain there? Now, lets ask the Bible, who made the universe? In Psalms 19:1 and it reads: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Psalms 19:1 NIV) Have you ever not wondered why the earth does not fall in the solar system? Have you ever asked that to yourself? Imagine, the earth rotates in the solar system in a continuous manner with proper timing, movement and distance. Imagine, the earth is hanging upon nothing, not even a single rope is supporting the earth. In fact, this was already written in the Bible 2000 years go before the idea of science was introduced and invented by human beings that the earth is really hanging upon nothing in an empty space. It is written in Job 26:7 and it reads: "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing." (Job 26:7) So you see, the earth is steady and continuously rotates in the solar system. Now, who is the one who maintained the stability of the earth so that it will not fall? I called him GOD Almighty. This is one of the proofs that there is really a GOD against the idea of atheist. You know what, even though you did not see the person who made your computer, television, radio and your cellphone at home, I cannot convince you that there is no one who made the things which you are currently using and enjoying right now there. Even though you have not seen the person who made your computer and cellphone, you should believe without a doubt that there is really someone who made and invented the things that you using right now, much more the things which are complex and complicated which cannot be created and invented by human being. The truth is we human being cannot produce or invent even a single ant or termite that you can see in your home right now. So that is why, you should believe that there is really a GOD who is the creator of all things because only GOD can make those complex things which are very impossible to be invented by the intelligence of human being. The complex things which you are seeing right now are clearly manifested by the work of GOD like what is written in Romans 1:19-20 and it reads: "Because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse," (Romans 1:19-20 NKJV) You see, the creation of the world is one of the best examples which was made by the eternal power of GOD. You cannot deny the fact that whether you believe it or not, you should really believe that there is really someone who made your chair at home that you are sitting right now and you will be able to easily identify that it was the carpenter who made your chair despite of the fact that you did not see the carpenter in person with your both naked eyes. In fact, this was also supported by Science with this idea "nothing happens without a cause." If you are studying science, you should believe that nothing happens without a cause. With all His great works and creations, this made me believe How Great is our GOD. So I hope you will be able to think about these things. Remember time is gold. Love GOD with all your heart and He will embrace you with His blessings and unconditional love. After all, we live here on earth just for Him. Life here on earth is just temporary, but the life that we will get there in heaven is everlasting, forever and ever.

The only entity that should have any reason to trash Christianity is another religion with a different opinion of God. Atheist and agnostics shouldn't care about Christianity one way or the other. So why do they? What is it about Christianity that can move non believers to such hate? Could it be the moral and ethical aspects of it and the possibility of judgment? I don't know, but I do know there is a great desire for the Bible to be proven wrong. If the Bible is proven wrong, there is no moral law and no moral law giver, nor is there any judgment. Such a desire for the Bible to be proven wrong makes one wonder if atheist and agnostics are so sure of themselves.

It is really sad to see that there are really people who do not fear GOD. What does the Bible says to those people who do not fear GOD? In the book of Ecclesiastes 8:12-13 and it reads: "Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God." (Ecclesiastes 8:12-13) In Proverbs 1:7, the Bible reads: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction." (Proverbs 1:7) In Romans 9:20 and it reads: "But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, Why have you made me like this?" (Romans 9:20) You should and must fear GOD with all your heart because GOD is the owner of your life. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 and it reads: "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) GOD is also the one who is giving life and breath to us and all the things we needed here on earth. In Acts 17:25 and it reads: "Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things." (Acts 17:25). What does the Bible says about the unbelievers? In 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 and it reads: "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?" (2 Corinthians 6:14-15) And in Psalms 53:1 and it reads: "The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good." (Psalms 53:1) Why do I am posting these verses to those people who do not fear GOD and to those people who are unbeliever? Because according to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, it reads: "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17) From the bottom of my heart, I believe that I can use the Bible for teaching, for reproof, for correction for training in righteousness because everything that was written in the Bible is righteous and just. I would rather prefer to believe in GOD and to have worries because worrying is something useful to humanity. Worrying about your fate, worrying about what will happen to you, being afraid of evil that will come makes you a better person, so believing in GOD makes a person better. Unbelief in GOD makes you worse. In Proverbs 12:2 and it reads: "A good man obtains favor from the Lord, But a man of wicked intentions He will condemn." (Proverbs 12:2) Also in Matthew 12:35 and it reads: "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him."(Matthew 12:35) On the other hand, as I stated in my previous comments, the Bible is 100% authentic, genuine and most of all accurate. In Isaiah 40:22, the Bible reads: "He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth."(Isaiah 40:22) And that it hangs upon nothing as it is written in Job 26:7: He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. (Job 26:7) The above statement is proven 100% by Science and it is a fact, proving only that the Bible is really accurate. What is important is that the Bible prophesied that the earth is a circle in shape, meaning it is round which is the equivalent meaning of circle. We do not care if it is a sphere as what other people say. What makes it important is that the equivalent meaning of a circle is round which also conforms to Science. If the teacher asks you to draw a circle, are you going to draw a triangle or a rectangle? Automatically, if we hear the word circle, we think anything circular or round in shape, the circumference of a circle/wheel. Another Biblical citation that makes the Bible 100% accurate, proven in Science and in Medicine, is the verse written in Genesis 17:12 and it reads: "He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant." (Genesis 17:12). God specifically directed Abraham to circumcise newborn males on the eighth day. Why did God specify day eight? In Medicine, on the eighth day, the amount of prothrombin present actually is elevated above one-hundred percent of normal—and is the only day in the male’s life in which this will be the case under normal conditions. There are still a lot more. I just only want to share what I have learned from studying the Bible in our Church. I know sharing the good news is a good thing to do like what is written in Luke 6:27 and it reads: "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you" (Luke 6:27) Also in James 4:17 and it reads: "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." (James 4:17) I hope this will help unbelievers change their perception in life. It is better to have a GOD whom you can always trust. This is tried and tested especially in my life. It is a long story to tell, but I can assure you that GOD is real and I can feel his presence like an air. I breathe because there is an air. I may never see the air with my both naked eyes, but I can feel its presence. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

It boils down to fear. Atheists and agnostics have no reason to fear any religion but Christianity, or any sacred writings but the Bible.

I'm an atheist, so I'm really more of a bible trasher... I've even started up a few posts on here about how wrong the bible is. But, my real main goal, is to make more people that are reading it, or just looking over the whole "war" between the religious and non-religious, not care about it. What I really want in the end, is an agnostic kind of world, where people aren't going to care about either side, except for seeing it all as ancient stories... but, if all you have is the more religious, saying about how true it all is and how much of an impact it's made on them, then you're going to have a greater overall percentage of acceptance of it. I really hope that the world of the future goes agnostic, so, we need to have both sides battling, for now.

I think this is the "our team" syndrome.Either you believe in a god or you are an atheist you will always try to find arguments that confirm your beliefs.So an atheist will look at such movies made by other atheists and he will think those guys are pretty smart, a religious person will look at them and he will think they are stupid.The same for the movies the religious persons are making. So i don`t know if we can talk about an Atheism vs Theism debate on youtube or mylot or whatever.I think the smart people don`t spend too much time making silly movies or talking about silly movies on mylot.Each of us has personal opinions but if i don`t like your answer that doesn`t mean all atheists are stupid and if you don`t like mine that doesn`t mean all theists are stupid.

It isn't really the bible that is trashed. The bible is a piece of history. We know that much. At some point, these words were written down. We know this. Most people who "trash" the bible are really trashing fundamentalist Christians. You see, we all live in this world together. There are laws that have to be upheld. The bible includes teachings that can come in conflict with reason. For instance, birth control. Another would be homosexuality. When religion enters the political world, that is when non believers are angered. They should be. Faith is belief in the unseen. It isn't an atheist or non believers fault that this religion exists. An Atheists mind is free of religious dogma. It is non biased. Atheists know this. So, whenever a religious leader expects us to live through the word of "God" ,you see, it can be quite upsetting.

I should also mention, both of the videos you posted that were, "stupid Christians that are apparently making a fool of themselves", are not really true ones... they were both people pushing to the extremes on a different viewpoint then they had, to get more hits on youtube... the guy who's talking about Christianity is actually quite a famous non-religious speaker through youtube... look through his videos , and he really shows religion as a really bad idea... and then he has others, showing how he's actually more of an anti-theist.

Once someone decided to collect what was written. Copies were needed and there was no way to print it. So it's all done by hand by different people while one was reading. People are different so they pick out what they understand or write down what they are able to follow or hear (sitting in the back, am deaf..). People are really different so they doubt, change, delete what they are not believing and start new religions, with their own bibles (just delete what doesn't make sense). Bibles are translated, changed, nearly every country has religions that don't exist in anywhere else. And yes they did stole wisdom from the atheist but also the old (way older) believes that what is called pagan now or worse. Why? To make it easier to manipulate people into the new believe. The rest is just threatening people, make them afraid (by the written word and what is preached, how much depends on the church/believe/priest/pastor). Keep the people dumb, not educated and you have great tools to work for you and manipulate.

Hello, Runite.. I like your symbol... And congrats on your first discussion. Anyway, the reason it is thrown around is because of what you said. Christians argue among themselves about which "sect" is more correct. Agnostics and atheists look at them and say, "they cant even figure it out and they try to tell me to join.." We are the laughing stock of the world when this happens. I believe in getting the FACTS of Christianity out to the public. I like letting people know that our GOD is who he says he is. That Jesus is who he claims to be. That all of the happenings in the Bible, (except the added scriptures done by those who thought they had the right) really happened. All of these guys do a good job at showing the truth of science and the Bible. I too have 5 discussions on this...but had limited time to post. With that being said, I am happy to see that you have done some research. I know of many atheists/agnostics who simply say," I dont believe..." and have never even looked at anything. They simply go on what other atheist/agnostic people have told them...On the other had, so do MANY Christians. I have had many conversations with Christians who believe a certain way and ask them why, and they say it is what their parents believed. This particular "Christian" Is just like those who you described. They make themselves, and Christianity, look less intelligent. All of these links are fun to watch because it is just "back and forth" but in reality, as you said, it is getting nowhere.
