I had an extremely traumatic early childhood, and I started having memories of these things very early, and I can still recall them now as if it were just yesterday, what is your first memory? Was it a happy, sad, traumatic or some other kind of memory? I'm just curious to see what emotions have the most influence on memory...

My first memory was my 3rd birthday. I just turned 3 years old that day and that's what I remember. My parents and relatives were circling around me. I am opening my gifts, they were all so happy. I think I make them happy and I entertain them. That's what I remember. I don't remember if I'm happy that time.

When I was in early childhood, I can remember the time when I had my first hospitalization. I think i was 3 years of age at that time. I remember how I was put on a stretcher and how the nurses and my parents hold my hand because I was so resistant to get of the bed.I'm so afraid of the injection and I don't want to be injected.During that time, whenever the nurse enters on my room and gave a IVTT medication, I cried a lot.But then she injected it on the injection port and it didn't hurts. That was all that I can remember. Now that I am a nurse,I remember these childhood memory of mine whenever I encountered patients who were children.

Hello Rozeen and welcome to myLot. I hadn't thought about my early memories for a long time now. I really have two very early memories. When I was toddler there were these swings that were hung in the door way. They were pretty much like he wings are today for infants. I remember jumping up and down in it as it was pretty close to the floor.
My mother did a lot of embroidering at that time and I remember her giving me a cloth with the hoops and a needle and thread too. I wove the needle and thread round and round the hoops making a mess for mom to have to cut so I could start over,

my childhood memory is a happy one. i remember vividly how we, siblings, huddled together to listen to the scary stories of my father. the story-telling would take few hours after dinner. television then was a rarity. it was scary, but at the end of the story, we found ourselves laughing and smiling because we made fun of each other.

My earliest memory is of sitting in my grandparents' living room with a pile of books beside me as I struggled to read through my favourite on my own (a story about some children and their dog going to the seaside and buying sweets - it had lovely illustrations). It was quite telling of things to come as I'm now a mjor book geek :P
