I started this week out incredibly strong. I either worked out for an hour or walked for an hour every day, until Friday came around. Me and my sister had previous plans to go to Happy Hour at one of the local bars. I put myself on a limit of 2 $2 beers and NO fried bar food. I also wanted to make sure I walked that day just to burn off the empty calories of those beers. (Even though they were light beer).
Fail and fail.
We ended up running into a bunch of old family friends, who kept buying us rounds... And after about 5 beers, I was incredibly hungry and not for a salad, so I gave in and ended up having a handful or two of cheesy nachos, and about 3 pieces of greasy cheese pizza. And more beer.
AGH!!!!!
I made a resolution to try to lose the winter weight and tone up, and I feel like I have totally lost it. Although today I have been doing great eating wise, have not exercised yet (But I am going to in about fourty-five minutes), but I feel like a mega-failure.
I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself. I had a lot of fun last night, it was fun running into these folks and partying with them a little bit, but I also feel like I totally screwed up my hardcore diet plan.
Maybe I should just be on a diet Monday-Thursday and give myself a break on the weekends. .
I think I am being too hard on myself. In fact, I know I am. It just feels like when this happens, I am totally killing the progress I made the 5 days before hand.
Do you ever have days like this? Do you let it slide?
Maybe I Should just give myself Fridays "off" as that seems to be the way it's going....
What do you think?

Having a break is fine, but taking Friday through the whole weekend is not going to work. There is a difference between enjoying something and an all out binge. If you want to lose weight, there has to be a reason for it in the first place. Isn't it something to do with your fitness level or your body shape? If you want to change something dramatically, then make no mistake, you will have to work for it.
Work out at least 3-4 times a week. Do it in a way that you can enjoy it and integrate it into your life. For example, I find it easier to exercise if I have a comedy I enjoy or some music playing. It lets me pass the time and also gauge how much time has passed.
Eat moderately, preferably to a plan, such as high-protein, low fat, then sometimes make a conscious effort to eat less, as well as occasionally allowing yourself to eat more. Try to keep sugars and junk to a minimum. Convince yourself you don't want to eat that rubbish, because of how it affects your body.
Drinking is not much good for you. It inhibits muscle development and provides 'empty' calories that your body must consume. If you eat a lot after drinking it is game over for that day. It may also make you a little lax the following day.
That would be my advice based on experience. If you achieve the end result it is so much easier to relax and control later on. The advantage of working harder is quicker visible results that will encourage you to keep going.

Actually from what I have been learning lately on my 90 day challengediet they say it is good to "switch it up." So your idea of giving yourself a break is not a bad one. If you do the same exact routine meal wise and exercise wise every day your body will get used to it which then means it builds up a resistance and so you'll have to work even harder the following week to achieve the same results as the week before.
So you might go ahead and try to give yourself like 5 days on two days off and see how it goes. I would still try to include some good quality nutrition on your days off, but allow yourself a "treat" and be ok with it. :)
