When you walk, where do you walk at?

I live in a small town so we only have a short walking trail, about 3 miles one way, and 2 parks. One of the parks is about 1 1/2 miles around it and the other is around a 1/4 of a mile. I like to take random walks around the whole town and get 5-7 miles in just for the great fresh air. In your town where do you like to walk at?

Hi deaconroyal, there is a park nearby. It just takes a 15 minutes or so drive to reach there. Big trees and flower plants of all kinds are available there. The air there is cold and fresh in the early morning. It's so comfortable and relaxing to walk along the paths there. I usually would like to have brisk walk together with my husband there twice or thrice in a week
We really enjoy walking along the paths go round the small lakes. People are seen fishing by the side of the lake. There are fascinating water lilies growing in the lakes. There is a road leading to a hill as well next to the park. If we have considerable time we would like to walk along the road and reach the waterfall at the foot hill. It's would be a great fun to spend half a day at the water fall. The environment there is so beautiful with many big rocks and trees. It's so comfy to soak our legs in the cold and crystal clear water
Happy posting

We do have another bigger water fall going up to the hill somewhere near to where we are used to visit. Go up along the sloping road on the left hand side for about twenty minutes or so we will get the sound from the water fall. There, it's the reservoir to supply tap water for the local residences. We are not allowed to step in the restricted area for the safety purpose of drinking water Therefore people have to end their brisk walk or have a rest there. From the spot where we are we can enjoy our bird's eye view of the beautiful park as well as part of the town area

You make that sound so nice. The park we have has a small damn to make the lake, more like a large pond, and about 1/4 of a mile down stream from it there is a small waterfall that me and my nephews got to play in today. We have had a lot of rain recently so there was some trash that had washed into the lake, or the damn and into the area around the falls. It was a very nice day for a walk though. Afterwards we went and got our first snow cone of the season.

You would love my area! I live by a lake and there is plenty of areas to hike. You can walk around the perimeter of the lake which is close to a hundred miles, or hike in the woods. Then you can also walk the road from the county road back to my home which is a 8+ mile walk. You have plenty of things to see, between the scenery and the wild animals it is beautiful.
I don't walk in my town, first and foremost my legs wouldn't handle the beating they would get from my walking on cement. (I have arthritis in both legs and walking is misery) Plus there are areas in my town that you really don't want to walk around.

I am going to be moving back in with my mother for a few months to save up some money over the summer so I will be able to also get some of those great country views. She just doesn't live by a lake sadly. But there is one about 10 miles down the road I might start driving to to walk.

I used to live in a small town, we had one park and a Y!. We had another "bullhole" and it was fun. In any case, I live in the suburbs now and so I just walk around the neighborhood here. I hate it here though and so I don't walk around that often. It takes about an hour to get around the county I used to live in, and that's driving. There were plenty of places to walk though, even if there was but one park.

My mom lives about 15 minutes outside of town and about 5 minutes form where my aunt lives which has a nice walking path but never walks. I also do not like to walk around my neighborhood much because everyone parks on the sidewalks and it gets pretty dangerous to walk in the street as most people are talking on their phones not looking for you. The other problem is the police in my town. If they have nothing to do they will stop you to see if you are doing anything wrong so they can have a bit of fun. Best of luck on your walks.

I live in the biggest town on my island. There are many places in town that I like to visit when I go for a for walk. Sometimes I líke to walk past the shops and the restaurants. We don't have a lot of shops, but I still like to walk around in the area where the shops are, and I like to look at the things that they are selling. Sometimes I choose to walk in a different area. I like the area around the meadow, it is a nice place to go for a walk and it is very peaceful. Close to the meadow there is an old windmill from 1820. I like to walk from the meadow to the mill, and I think that it is a beautiful area.

well my hometown Larissa is most of it a "flat" town with no mountains or ups and downs so it's a nice town for walking around (though I prefer bicycling around :)). My personal best way of walking here is when I take my dog for a walk in my neighborhood for usually around 3/4 hour to an hour so It has to be some distance :)

I also prefer to bike, but since I haven't been able to do so for about 2 months I am not used to it and my rear gets really sore. So I like to walk around in the hilly places for my exercise. I see many people walking their dogs as the reason to get out and get a walk in. I even saw this one lady that was being dragged around the park by her dog that probably weighted as much, if not more, then she did. Glad to hear you like to get a work out for not only yourself but also your dog.

There are a lot of little paths around my city (Minneapolis, MN). We have about a million lakes, too, so we could walk around one of those. One of my favorite spots to walk, though, is around a lake called Lake Calhoun. It's the perfect size to go around once, and is in the heart of a yuppy area - with very rich, fancy mansion houses (which are fun to look at). Included is a pic of the path on the lake. It basically always has people around it, too, which makes it a little, more relatively safer. It is also the perfect length for me - 3.14 miles. Which is the same as a 5k. If I am ever training for a 5k, this lake is a perfect example. It takes about 1 hour to get around it.
I go to other paths and parks as well, but this is my main place. I really abhor walking on city streets, I prefer having some kind of nature to look at. It makes things more interesting.
Happy walking!

I wish i had a place that looked that nice to walk around. The walking path here is an old rail road that they ripped up and put cement down. It has it's moment, but the kids have begun spray painting everything. If I can find my sd card I might go take some pictures to show you. The fact that it is a 5k is pretty nice too.

I love to walk outdoors whenever I can and whenever the weather is nice. I remember many years ago, where there was not that many good walking paths, so I really had to be rather creative with how I walked. Of course, if someone really wants to take a nice long walk, they are going to find a way. No matter how far out of their way it is, they are going to find a way to walk, to get the most out of the exercise.
These days, there are sidewalks pretty much all around the town. I can go for a nice walk around the town for about an hour, just stopping, enjoying a lot of the sights and the sounds. There are a lot of places that one can walk and the park is not that far from my house, so if I wanted to stop there for a little bit and walk around there, I can do so good. I just love to walk and there are just many different paths to walk in this area.

I admire you for taking time to walk and keep yourself in good health through exercise. Walking is a natural way of exercising and I like to walk like many of the people who want to have a healthy heart. I walk every day in different places. It's not something that I do for long periods of time but it's but natural to walk and move to our home to another place near us. I walk in the streets, on the mountains, on the plain.
