To add, giving driver's license here in our country seems not very strict on applicants. If a person just know how to drive a vehicle, they can get driver's license. Psychological and other tests were not implemented properly and strictly. Just to share, during the time I am applying for my licensed, there is a person also getting his license. The man seems to be too old to be able to drive, he is already accompanied by his relative because he can't even walk by himself. But he was still issued with his license.

ohhh my GOD your government issued license to someone who does not know to drive that is very bad I believe it is great unjustice on part of goverment to issue license to people who do not know to drive in India also sometimes license agents take bribe and make license to people who do not know to drive so it is the responsibility of government to stop such people from getting license Thanks for sharing nice information Hare Krishna Ganesh

Yes our government too seems active but in my view India being overpopulated country it is not possible for our government to check each and every agent for taking any bribes .... Otherwise also in our country corruption has increased to imaginary levels and I m upset by the same ........ Hare Krishna Ganesh

They will issue license to those who can handle steering wheels, clutch, brakes. Thats it. They don't have even put "us" (yes, including me) in a test drive before allowing us to have our license. Bribery also happened here. There are some "fixers" that will do/fix your papers since they have some friends/relatives inside the issuing office. You will just pay the amount needed plus extra payment for their effort, sign for the papers and just wait outside until your name is called and get your license. I think, the government is already doing some actions to remove those "fixers". They keep on reminding applicants to transact only with authorized persons.

I agree! Here in the Philippines accidents by reckless driving is increasing. Most of the accidents were on motorcycle drivers. Sometimes, even you are too careful in driving your own vehicle, you might encounter reckless drivers that will cause/involved you in an accident. Last frday, I just saw an accident involving motorcycle and a truck. In my opinion it was the motorcycle's fault. They keep on overtaking and crossing big vehicles even there is traffic, perhaps, the driver of the truck doesn't noticed the motorcycle crossing in front of him.

Yes I agree with you the motor bike drivers tend to pose themselves as heroes and try to overtake everyone in the way so in that regard I think traffic police is responsible for controlling such mischievous people because the cost lives of many for their own negligence ...... Yes, they drive as if there were no tomorrow. They are driving like "David vs. Goliath". And when accident happened, they act as if they don't have fault.

Yes exactly the same they kill others for their faults and later they pretend as if they are the perfect drivers and its mistake of others that cause the accident .......... After accident there is no way to prove whose fault was it that caused the accident ........ Hare Krishna Ganesh

Yhea your right I't become more risky these days since there are a lot of vehicle in the road everyday. Here in my country we had already number code scheme for the odd even number assign on what day they are not allowed on the road. But still there are a lot of accidents everywhere. I just thought maybe the car companies have to stop producing vehicle for we have no space for everybody. In time maybe my city will have to build and build roads going up and up like 2nd, 3rd and so forth floors. Just an idea hehehe

lol I don't think there is any way for us to stop car companies from manufacturing cars but yes safe driving is in our hands we can drive safely and can save our lives ... I also agree that we have shortage of roads and for this our government should build more roads so that we can drive more safely ........... Thanks for sharing nice information Hare Krishna Ganesh

It is very risky here in America. They let anyone drive who can pass the test and many states issue licenses that are good for years and years without re-testing. So we have drivers that are very old as well as teenagers. Just last month we had 2 drivers over the age of 85 in 2 separate incidents that hit the gas instead of the brake and drove through buildings. No one was seriously injured, thank God. Others drive drunk and kill people and don't even get their licenses taken away. Most drivers, it seems, have cell phones glued to their ears and are not paying attention. I was nearly run off the road yesterday by a woman whose care drifted over the center line into my lane--she was talking on her cell phone and not paying attention and I had to drive half off the road to avoid her. Driving has always been risky but now that everyone is using cell phones it is even worse.

Ganesh, indeed driving had been very risky and dangerous in my country, too. That's why, i can see that my sister who had been going through driving class, had to gone through more tough driving lesson. It is more hard to pass the driving exam, unlike my time where we only need to learn a few basic knowledge, to pass the exam. Nowadays, there are more and more knowledge they need to know, to be able to pass those theory and practical driving exam.

Yes seeing the increase in number of accidents goverment has no other way left but to do strictness in making driving license exam more tough so that a novice driver may not pass the exam and go on road killing many others via reckless driving ...... I do have to agree that driving does seem to have become a more risky affair. Some people really aren't driving safely. It can definitely make you a little nervous, and certainly more cautious.

Yes and aside from drivers' undisciplined driving, one reason could be the number of vehicles has increased tremendously. Recently I posted these driving tips in my fb wall. 1. Drivers meet vehicular accidents on the road. The longer you stay there, the higher is your chance of accident. So drive fast, if you could cut your travel time into half, you have reduced the possibility of accident into half. 2. Drivers bump vehicles in front. So try to overtake every vehicle in your front. You are safe once you are ahead of everyone. You got no one to bump. 3.Use every part of your vehicle properly. Bumper as its name suggest is for bumping. What's the use of your bumper if you will not use it. 4. Don't be shy to drive fast when you are drunk. Isn't it that your purpose of drinking is to get rid of your shyness? CAUTION: These are not recommended for everyone. These tips are only for experts.LOL!
