Tony spent .............. money buying movie tickets that he didn't have enough left to buy soft drink or candy bar.
A. such B. a lot of C. too much D. so much
I read in the grammar book that we can use the following structures:
Such + Noun + that
and so much+.......... + that
So I am very confused between (A) and (B). Can anyone please explain for me. Thanks in advance

I would answer that tony spent SO MUCH money buying movie tickets that he dint have enough left to buy soft drink or candy bar. We use so much because we are talking about two events. I do not know how to explain this more than that.

The correct answer is "so much" in the sentence given. If you were to write it as:
"Tony spent a lot of/too much money buying movie tickets ..." you would have to end it as "... such that he didn't have enough left ...".
The construction "so much ... that ..." is more common than "[statement] ... such that ...", which would probably be considered slightly archaic.
