i am not such a music listening person, though i sometimes listed to songs that come on the radio. But sometimes when i listen to some sad songs i feel like there is sadness in my life and nothing seems good and when sometimes i listen to a particular song, it remind me of the place or the event that happened when i first unconsciously listened to that song.
Do you people feel the same things. How do you overcome these emotions and just enjoy the songs ! Share your experience .

Depending on the type of music that we are listening to. We tend to visualize from our minds what the song is talking about and its meaning. Love songs are those that sets the person happy or sad. Rock and dance music makes us move.

Yeah, listening to music most of the time could affect our mood. Some songs may have play a part one way or the other in our life either during our happy or sad moment. Listening to good music also increases our productivity, also helps in relieving stress.

yes, music surely change my mood. In fact, i can see the effect on my 10 month baby. When he listens to song, he starts to dance. he feels happy and he cries if the music is stopped. music is a big relaxation and a stress buster for many. It would be really surprising to see if someone disagrees to this and hates music. i am pretty sure everyone loves music of one or the other kind as it distresses mind and gives new lease to life when depressed

I just really enjoy listening to any & all kinds of music. Its just a total relaxation for me as well as it gives me some "me" time. I generally listen to music either at work or when I am walking/jogging in the morning. It helps me pass time as well. I am not sure why anyone would not want to listen to music.

I think u must be on alpha or beta level of relaxation when u experience this feeling. it might sound crazy but you tall to yourself.. Say it many times that you are happy n not sad. Its a simple way to program yourself. You will overcome this soon...Try it

Yes, music can really influence our mood, which is the reason why almost everyone loves music. In fact, when we are happy, we like to listen to happy songs, while when we are sad, we don't have mood to listen to happy songs, and we show preferences to sad songs. Because sometimes we feels the lyrics just describe the feelings of ourselves.

yes even i feel the same. Lyrics play a very important role in a song and its not just the music alone which influence our mood.
For example i liked the song "nothing else matters" by metallica when i was really missing my love.
The lyrics just felt so touching.

is listening to music always relaxing ?
i believe it also does bring some negative thoughts if the song you are listening reminds you of a sad event in your life.

It's true that sometimes sad songs and songs relating to life incidents make us sad and enliven the moment but some songs make you feel happy as well and relieves you of the stress . When such songs make me sad and bring tears to my eyes I try to skip that one and listen to some funny , romantic or songs which bring back happy moments . I even switch off the transistor and and try to watch comedy programs on TV .

yes its true but it becomes hard to get the thought out of the mind once it gets in.
Also redirecting your mind to something else helps but it always not possible.

last night i was so disappointed and upset and i could feel that my eyes began to shed tears. so, i get my phone and start listening some songs particularly the hail song entitled "lord i offer my life" and suddenly my mood was changed.
and sometimes when i listen to love songs i could reminisce the day that my partner and i met, the precious moments we shared together until the day we are bind as one.

I also like to hear music and I sometimes go to trance and start to feel different.Once it happened to me that I was going to my friends home and i happened to listen a song which I was listening for the first time and I liked it so much that I was in different world and forgot to get out of the bus at the stop. When the song finished I came to know that I have missed the stop and then from there I went to my home.Actually many times we choose to listen the song when we are in the mood such as if we are sad we listen to some slow songs and when we are very energetic then we like to listen to the fast paced song.

yes it is very true. Even i tend to like the songs according to the mood in which i am in . But sometimes i find sad songs irritating becoz they just induce more sadness and we just get them out of our heads.

Yes it does. First and foremost, music is the most important thing in my life. I appreciate every aspect of music, the beats, the words and the feeling of the singer. Music always controls my mood in the sense, if I listen to a sad song, maybe talking abo

I always have music on, and if I am already in a certain mood, I have certain music I like. I also have certain music that can cheer me up when I feel like crap. I have about 2,000 songs in my iPod.

Music can really change my mood. There are songs that remind me of my youth or of my first love. If I feel sad when listening to such songs I simply put another song that makes me feel better. I have some favorite singers that make me enjoy life and forget the sad things. So it's simple, change the song and the singer!

Yes music can evoke emotions.Don't listen to those sad music intentionally as it is only for some special occasions. When you unconsciously listened to,pls think positively"life is still good,we have owned a lot of and life will continously be good even better" then perhaps you will feel better. For other pop music it will be fine to listen to at any time as you like.

Oh, I will cry over a sad song. Lol. But I enjoy listening to music. I rarely listen to the radio now, so I only listen to songs from my laptop. So I can choose which songs that I want to listen at that time. I will only make a list and play them. If I want to be fun then I will play fun songs, and if I want to be sad, I will play some sad songs. Lol.
