The weather today wasn't good. I woke up this morning with a headache and my body was very heavy. I took Aleve pill and it went away. After few hours, I feel nausea's and my eyes were cloudy and my throat hurts. I think I'm gonna have colds soon! I hope not coz I really hate having a bad cold. :-( I just took another Aleve pill 30 mins ago and it seems didn't work. I gotta fight for this sickness coz I don't want my daughter to catch it if ever I will have a bad cold. :-( I wanted to go to the market to buy some oranges but I feel cold right now. Any tips on how to fight for this? I drank plenty of fluids already.

If there are symptoms of the flu start attacking you, then you should better choose to rest, drink lots of water, eat healthily, and taking medicine to reduce fever. If you come to a Doctor, you may indeed be given a medication that can ease flu symptoms. But you should consume in the first two days of the symptoms occurs.
You also can prevent the flue by getting a flu vaccine every year. The best time to get this vaccine is in October and November, before flu season starts. Anyone can get this vaccine, especially for people who have a higher risk of flu. For example, children ages 6 months to 4 years, people aged over 50 years, adults and children who have long term health problems or immune systems disorders, and pregnant woman in the flu season.

Yeah, colds are very annoying to have, you should take vitamin C and yes, even more fluids. Why don't you read this, maybe it will help: http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=53472

Everytime I feel like having colds, I do rest and drink plenty of water like what you're doing now, good job *wink!
I take over-the-counter medication whenever I feel pain, usually it's the headache that I wanted to get rid of. I drink hot calamansi juice preferably with honey. Oranges will do for sure.
Well, if in case it prolong, you can prevent the spread of cold viruses by frequently hand washing (I do use hand sanitizer) and if you like, you can wear a face masks.
It's really a nightmare for a mom like us to have colds. We don't want our kids to be in pain.
I just wish you well chicgale...

I hope you feel better soon and don't get really sick. It seems with these weather changes here, it is hard not to get a bit of a cold.

I usually take medicines if I feel that way but I'd rather use natural remedies now which are just as effective.I drink lots of fluids especially warm water & fruit juice, eat foods rich in Vit C,and have some hot soup.Of course,I also get a lot of rest.

Hi chicgale! Sounds pretty much like you've gotten all the best
combined advice already! There's not much more you can do except
what everyone else has already suggest! Staying hydrated and resting
is the most important things you can do. If you have a fever and it
spikes, then it is time to visit a doctor. I hope you feel better
soon and that your daughter doesn't get sick.

the weather is ever changing same here in our place. it should have been summer but its cold like december. well, you need to take a rest, take a double dose of vitamin C, take plenty of water and fruits are really good. here we have this malunggay leaves that my husband air dried, grind and we mixed it with milk like tea. it has multivitamins and high levels of vitamin C and nutrients. that boosts our immune system pretty well that i haven't catch a cold for a long time. my son too is eating it well so i'm glad. hope you get well soon and take precautions not to pass it through your daughter.

In addition to the responses and suggestions here already you might want to get some garlic to add to the vitamin C and maybe some D as well. Those two vitamins plus garlic fight off the worst kinds of colds and maybe flu. I hope you feel better soon and don't give it to your daughter.
