lucky time for chelsea...
in 90 minutes, chelsea fight not to get a goals from benfica..
but with the lucky time and lucky situation, kalou had finished the superb assist from Torres..and luisao and benfica goalkeeper can`t stop it..
Chelsea win 1-0 with that goal
the important winning i think..
it changes the pessimist from lampard and many chelsea fans about the ability of chelsea as team (overall) and the ability of Di Matteo..
we can say that Di Matteo is more succesfully than AVB even his status is only temporary manager and ex assistant manager of AVB..
David luis and Petr cech are the hero for Chelsea..
they are deserved get point 8,5 because of their good performance and helping chelsea win in the first leg in home of Benfica..
congratulation for Chelsea

Benfica needed to win in order to have a slight chance to qualify. Now, that they have lost, I don't see them remounting the deficit on Stamford Bridge. I think Chelsea will win at home also and they will meet Barcelona in the semifinals, where they will be knocked out.

It will be useless, I think. Chelsea is hard to be beaten at home, only the top teams can do this, and with all the respect which I have to Benfica, they are not currently a team which can be categorized as top teams, at least not in Europe. Maybe an early penalty awarded to them, completed by a red card for one of the Chelsea defenders or goalkeeper can make them qualify.

I did not see that coming. The Chelsea at BPL and Champions League is two different team. It seems like the new manager had install a new set of target for the team and they are fighting to accomplish it. While there is still the next leg to play for, Chelsea has almost booked their spot in the semi-finals.

Yes, chelsea won that game against all expectations given that benfica is unbeaten on their home ground since 2010, when even Man united can't beat them. When chelsea won, it gives them a brand new confidence level, playing attractive attacking football again. I can't wait for the second leg to start when chelsea is playing home to benfica. An open game would be good, but i would love to see Benfica progress than Chelsea. Chelsea is boring, and it's good to see some changes for semi and finals.

chelsea do the best thing in Benfica's home..
they have a really good defense with P Cech in goalkeeper.
in defense line also, they had worked so hard to stop Benfica's Attack.
for Benfica, they only need a better luck.
they had struggle so hard for making a goal, but they didn't get it..
Maybe if they have better luck, they can get more than one goals..
it is so interesting to see leg 2 in stamford bridge.
there will be a hard game and beautiful technique that will be shown from every player..
cheers

i dont think that chelsea do the best things (if we see from the performance in the field in 90 minutes)
but if we view from the result, yes we must admit that Chelsea do their best things..
Their attack will send disaster for luisao et al...he can`t guard well Kalou which finish the wonderful assist from Torres

It was an entertaining game and of course i saw a many counter attacked impressed me a lot. Tho both team played well however Chelsea had score finally. They had a away goal and advantage for them in next round.
Simply to say that benfica also played well but luck is not their side.

I believe that Chelsea is a strong team, and that with Di Matteo, they will overcome any setbacks due from AVB’s reign as coach. Just looking at Di Matteo’s past record shows success and a wiliness to not only teach but to learn as well from the team. I think this shall be a great year!
