Do you (or have you) ever had someone come clean your house?

What do you feel is a reasonable fee and/or time they spend there? I've found someone who cleans for $10 and hour and she does a great job, but sometimes her schedule and mine don't match up well. I can usually only have someone come in the mornings for a few hours as I am not around much in the afternoon, and I need to at least be here to let her in lol.
Would you have someone come clean for you weekly or monthly if you could afford it?

Hi mommyboo so far we don't have anyone to do the house cleaning work. The three of us share the chores to keep our house clean and tidy. It's certain that if if it's affordable I would like to have someone to do such tedious work so that I could have more time to work on my pc lol.... However it's still fortunate that the two of them are quite diligent and they often do their parts of routine nicely
Happy posting

We did have a lady to help us washing our clothes during the moment I gave birth to my first baby boy. She was not the type of responsible guy and always late. It's really awesome that she never came to do the regular washing without informing us earlier. The already soaked clothe gave an unpleasant smell. So we had to do the extra work that made us busier We sent her away after we had purchased a washing machine

I've never had a person or person's come and clean my apartment! I would love it! I hate cleaning, especially dusting! I have been a complaining on how much I want a maid service to clean my place on a regular bases, like forever! I am really thinking and hoping to save some money up so i can get a maid service in a least for spring and fall cleaning! Once I really want something I go after it! If I don't I never will stop thinking about it! I would be so more relaxed if this happened!

It was so nice when I met her and found out she did house cleaning! The companies that do it are way too expensive, they charge close to $150 for just 2 hours (they send 2-3 people) and I think with people I didn't know, I would be nervous leaving them at my home alone. I consider her my friend but not such a close friend that I feel uncomfortable - there have been two or three other occasions where I paid a friend to do some cleaning for me, and I was uncomfortable both times, not because they did a bad job but I felt wrong sitting around and chatting with them while they were scrubbing my house lol. Granted, the first time I was about to pop pregnant and I really had no choice, after my incident getting stuck in the tub and having to yell for my husband, I wasn't allowed to clean the bathrooms at that point lol.
My biggest problem now is that I'm gone a lot and when I'm home, I'm just quickly trying to get dinner made and things prepped for the next day. I'd rather spend time with my family than pull everything down and spend 2 hours sweeping, dusting, and steaming floors, vacuuming, and washing everything!

I think it would take a really big team of people to come clean here. I would say $10.00 an hour is fair and I'd probably have them come twice a month, maybe doing a deeper cleaning at the beginning of the month and a lighter cleaning at the end of it. I would say $100.00 per month, so five hours at $10.00 per the day that they came, twice a month.

LOL! The first time I had her come, she was here 4 hours I think because I needed all my kitchen cabinets cleaned - and the tops of them... and the fronts.... big yucky job since I had never cleaned up there, and we're talking YEARS. Now when she comes, it only takes about 2 hours, maybe 3 because she just cleans my kitchen, sweeps and steams all the tile, the entry, the hallway, and cleans one bathroom. For all the time it saves me (since I am hardly ever home), $20 is a STEAL of a deal. It would take me longer to do it myself and I'd probably keep finding something I needed to redo. When she comes, I'm just happy that I don't have to clean anything, maybe just empty the dishwasher lol.

hi,
actually here in my country its hard to have someone who will clean our houses, because they surely ask for payment, and not all owner of houses have that money to pay,but there are some home owners who can pay for that, and aside fro that i can clean my home.

I actually have experience with this. I have had someone come clean my home while I was doing several jobs. They came highly recommended and after forging a professional relationship (and signing legal forms) gave them a key so as to come and go. I always had a schedule of when they were arriving. Several years ago, I used to clean a house next to mine. $10 an hour is what I charged and is a reasonable offer for newer cleaners.

I can't believe you got somebody to clean for $10.00 an hour and in California too. I live in Canada and I am on a fixed income so I can not really afford to have someone clean for me on a regular basis. However, at times due to a medical condition I cannot do it myself and I bite the bullet and hire someone. The rate here generally is $ 15.00 an hour and there has to be a minimum of 4 hours, i.e. $ 60.00. On time I thought I was lucky because I got a young lady who cleaned for the Management company in my building. She agreed to come after her shift was finished and cleaned for $ 50. for about 3 hours but all the while she was on the phone with her boyfriend or husband but I was gratefull all the same because she took all the sliding windows apart, cleaned them and put them back together. I certainly could not do that.

I have never had anyone clean my house but yes...it would be money well spent. I would definitely have someone do it if I felt as though I needed it. I have usually give my children certain chores around the house to help me out though. Now that they are older, I don't have to clean as much as I did when I was younger though. My b/f is really good about helping me out too.

I have never paid anyone to come clean my house. I do have some aides that are provided by the state for my son. They only clean his room though. They are supposed to do a little more but they are both pretty lazy really. If I was paying them - I'd fire 'em! I think it's good to have someone help you out if you can afford it. I actually used to clean houses for a living. I didn't get rich off it - but I could eat! lol!

I think that I would pay someone about $50-$100 dollars on a biweekly basis to do the general cleaning in our house if it was something that we would be able to afford to do. All that I would want done is to have the floor mopped and the bathroom cleaned. Also, I would occasionally need someone to wash the windows and perhaps give me some assistance with organization.
Right now I'm letting a friend stay with us and she has been doing some cleaning for me to help us out and as a thank-you for letting her stay with us. We've been feeding her and I've bought her some things that she needs and it all seems perfectly fair to me.

I would love too, but my house is not that big and I can do it in a weekly basis. However, there were times that I do hire some househelp when I need to sort out things that needs to be disposed and also when the backyard needs a general cleaning and few things are need to be thrown.$10 an hour is big enough, here in country $10 is good for 4 hours already :)

If I had the money I would definitely have someone clean my house! Your price sounds fair to me. I would have someone do the dishes, I hate that chore. Lol. And do the dusting.

In my country few people would be willing to clean a house for $10 an hour. Most people would expect at least $20 an hour, and I think that is too expensive, so I prefer to clean the house myself. My husband and I have talked about paying someone to clean the house, but I prefer to spend that money on something else for instanse travelling. If we had lots of money I would consider the idea, because I don't enjoy cleaning and I think that it would be nice to spend the time on something else. But unless we suddenly get a lot more money than we have at the moment I prefer to clean the house myself.

hi there,
my mom does that, but i don't know how much she pays them. but i am sure it is not as much as 10 dollars. i think it is about PhP150 a day, and that is about US$3.50.
i would probably do that too if i can afford it hehehe but for now, i can take care of my things and clean them because i am not that busy. but we'll see because i don't like other people touching my things. you never know they might take it ehehhe

I had it was not great, more chatting and way more dirty as I am. Also leaving buckets with dirty water, garbish etc behind so after the cleaning lady left I had to start myself. It was too much money for what was done so I decided to safe that money and try to do each time a bit myself with help of my kids.
I don't know if I would ever start with it again. If it really was a good one I would pay and safe it from our food if necessary.

If i dont have enough time or when I feel tired, I will have someone to clean my home. Problem is there are times that they are parts of our house that they forgot to clean. That's why I prefer to clean our house all by myself
