I finally sat and watched SECRETARIAT recently. Although it has been out for several years I bought the DVD only a few weeks ago. It was a really good movie and a great story. I did some quick, but not in-depth research online after watching it and it appears that the movie was very accurate at least as far as the races were concerned. I remember hearing a little about Secretariat years ago but I never realized he was such a phenomenal race horse. He really was in a league of his own.

I remember back when my uncle was teaching at the University of Kentucky w(in Lexington) while working on his PhD during the summer at I.U. One time when my folks and I went to see him, we went to this horse track to look around, and there was a statue of Secretariat there. He was definitely an amazing horse!

Secretariat is undoubtedly one of those movies that you would recommend to someone as a must watch. The movie does justice to the famed horse that is on record as having won 3 events consecutively on record time. Animal movies are usually hard to pull off but Secretariat brings out the soul and strength of the horse that one can identify with; a magnificent movie that you can not pass.
