Hey there guys,
It is me again with one of my silly questions and some times repetitive discussions but hey this is about coffee something i love so let me ask it.
Were there times that you really needed an upper so that you can finish the job and not sleep on it, well i did and this was just a couple of weeks a go and what do you know it is lotting, so i decided im going to pull in an all nighter just to get some discussions in and hit all of my left over comments that i haven't responded to so as to pay my respects to my fellow lotters than commented on my discussions.
SO i poured my coffee and after a while it was okay Ive taken in three cups and lo and behold i wake up in the morning the computer was off and no all nighter for me, so question is have you ever had that drink a lot of coffee and still got to bed.
Please do share my good friends.

i never drink coffee because it keeps me up all night. i have a hard time dealing with caffeine since i was younger. i used to think i was having insomnia hehe.
when i was in college, i never drank sodas in the weekdays because every hour meant so much for especially being a nursing student. and also when i was working as a costumer service representative at a call center, i never drank coffee no matter how sleepy and tired i was already. i just kept drinking water (which kept me going to the bathroom most of the time) and kept myself busy.

Well if you keep on running to the bathroom all the time i think it is good exercise and would help pump more adrenaline to your blood and keep you awake on those long night that you work, anyway well cant blame you for working in a call center as of now, no jobs for most of us right now am i guess i was just pretty lucky, but don't worry time will come and your patience will pay off anyway enjoy the big pay in being a CSR.

If I am tired enough, I could drink all the coffee in the world & still go to sleep about 5 minutes later. . I feel like while coffee or caffeine might bring your heart rate up, of course it's not a replacement for sleep. My mind/heart can be awake but my body can be exhausted sometimes. It's weird!

Yeah well body if it is really tire or the brain realizes it is really in need of dept sleep no caffeine mug or dose can keep you up late, i think the Joe is only good if you can process it will to take in its effects and for the body is still strong enough for it last a couple of hours of no sleep.

Never happen to me though, that is first time. I think coffee doesn't have any affect on you. I usually drink one or two cups, and it make me awake for while. If three cup it will make me hyper I guess. I usually don't want to drink too much coffee at night time, since it might make me sleepless. I do need some rest at night time.

hey there king parker,
That is why coffee should only be taken at times that we really require to stay awake and just really drink it at occasions, in my opinion if we develop a tolerance to it then i think it would be useless to us in a time that we need it to work.

I like drinking coffee too. I always have a glass of coffee in the morning. and I think I have been addicted cs I will be so sleepy and have no spirit if I don't start my day with a glass of coffee. Fortunately, it's enough for me to have it once a day .I ever heard that there are some people out there who should have some cups of coffee a day. And I don't think it's good cos we know that too much coffee is not good for our health. And I really really avoid to have coffee in the afternoon or even in the evening cos the effect will be very bad for me: I will have INSOMNIA! It's not only couldn't sleep but I may not sleep all night. It must be terrible right, cos I should go to work tomorrow morning. So I only drink coffee in the morning just to pump up my spirit. I ever had coffee in at 7 or 8 pm but I did it for special purpose such as finishing deadline or something but I won't have it when I just want it and have no reason to have it..

Well i am one of those coffeeholics, before i've limited my coffee intake to just weekdays, but now i think i''ll only drink when i need to drink it so that i don't get high tolerance to it so that if ever i need to stay awake for a long time, when i drink one cup it will be good enough, thanks for the comment.

If I don't drink coffee for months, it helps something to stay awake, but otherwise it has no effect on me. I drink it with milk, but that shouldn't be enough reason to be useless.
When I was studying for my exams, I often drank mugs of coffee at night, just to find myself with my head on the book in the morning.
If I can get enough rest, coffee stops me from sleeping, but when i'm tired, it just can't wake me up.

Yep, coffee is practically useless when the brain is taking over the body and screaming at the top of it lungs for you to sleep , the brain is just to strong and just to tired at sometimes, anyway good that you add milk to your coffee i read somewhere that coffee is acidic and that causes sometimes lesions in the stomach so better add milk which is basic and somehow minimizes acidity of coffee.

Coffee has nothing to do with me even If I'm sleepy. Maybe because my coffee has less caffeine because it is herbal. Brewed coffee sometimes has an effect but gives me heart burn and palpitation, I rather choose to sleep If I can't make it alive.

Good point lyn, yepp avoid caffeinated stuff it is the one that gets you me , i think i'll try to lessen my coffee drinking not because I don't want it but i think right now i should pick the times that i need the coffee jolt, i love coffee but no point in taking something that i'm tolerated to right.

My friend oriented me about the effects of coffee in our mind after taking in. He said that it depends on the kind of coffee that we drink. If we drink coffee full of caffeine, then our body needs at least three hours before the caffeine has been balanced in the body. He told me that the reason why we can't sleep immediately after taking coffee is the effect of caffeine. Therefore, if you are able to sleep just a few minutes of sipping coffee, then I might be right when I say that the coffee you drunk was decaffeinated or with less caffeine content. I am drinking the coffee I bought from that friend and it's good. I can sleep after a few minutes of drinking. A blessed day to you.

hey there blessing to you,
Well a blessed day to you to my friend, i drank the same kind that i drink always and it's caffeine is probably standard but maybe i was just a bit tired that day and my body couldn't really take anymore so that the coffee's effects were masked by my body's need for rest.

Hhaha hello there my coffee colleague,
Well if your addicted to the Joe i think that you probably have a high tolerance of it, not most people can stand sleeping when being jolted by it so i guess you drink more than one cup a day, just make sure you try to ween off, coffee is good but if exploited can cause some problems later on.

Oh that's me. :D No matter how many glasses I drink in a day, I would always fall asleep. Coffee is just like a water supply for me, so most of the time, it doesn't help me at all. Lol.

Hi there, Deodavid. I think I'm more like my father. I mean, no matter we drink coffee or not in a day, we'd sleep so well at night. So I can say that though I'm addicted to coffee, but I can leave without it either. So I don't think I drink too much. Heheheh... And coffee is not that bad. There's something good about coffee too. :)

You must had been pushing really hard that night and must be really exhausted most people that don't regularly drink coffee will get the jolt more quicker but if you were really pooofed that night then no caffeine on earth in one cup can defeat the sleep in you.

I guess so, I mean there are just some days that you know you still wanna soldier on with work or other activities so you drink caffeine or energy drinks and yet you still fall to that great sleep, really i think the mind is overpowering the body, or is it my mind is weak.

hey there cloud31,
Good that it only happened once that means you don't have caffeine high tolerance yet, good for you.

I encounter this kind of problem drinking a lot of coffee to stay awake all day but end up sleeping. I just realize, too much energy lead my body exhausted which ended up the body to repair and recover. So before, I keep observing what went wrong sleeping even I drunk 3 to 4 cups a day until I found out to make my coffee effective. It needs to have body warm-ups and plenty of water after coffee to stay awake. It seems the method I use works for me but of course you need to listen to your body so that you may know what method or procedures are you going to apply.
