Hey guys, Thisis an old problem probably a couple of days back maybe more than a week, i went to my girls house as my regular visit of her and she was stressing about how weak the internet is and why does it only happen when the other phone is hooked up so i investigated and found out that the internet is good every time that there is no extension attached to the original phone so in conclusion only one phone for two floors is allowed by the signal that passes through the phone line for the internet and the phone. And to think i thought i could fix her day. Have you ever had this kinda problem when you think you can just swoop down and fix yet things blew up in your face?

When our plan backfires, it really is a very irritating thing. We tend to over analyze things, making the things that we thought of either unneeded or even irrelevant. There was one time that I tried to fix the remote of our television by messing with its interior parts, just to find out that all it needed was a change of batteries.

You said it, but you should have opened the remote like that unless you really know what you are doing anyway i was just troubleshooting anyway but the thing is fixed already all it needed was a micro-filter splitter that is of course the phone line provides.

Oh, yeah and it happens to me more than once...considering that I'm the technician in our house or something like that--and the problem solver in terms of programs and computer stuff. And sometimes it happens in my school work too where I think I can fix a problem only to get the result that I can't because I still need something to buy or punch-in something in order to really get it fixed. And I hate it when that happens and I'm in a hurry.

Hey there Sinfulrose, Yeah it really ticks us off right, like you know you are the only one that this people is relying on and that you know you have the will and knowledge to fix it then all of a sudden you can't and time is running out, arggghhh that really is a bummer right. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure what you mean by "extension" in this case though. Seems like you mean it as "lines," in which case I would agree with her getting a filter to plug in to the outlet the modem connects to (also assuming we aren't on a dial-up here). Contact her ISP, they should have included those when it was set up, so there "shouldn't" be any charges. Keep the phone unplugged when online if possible until then, I guess. Running into new problems tends to be half the fun to fixing things to me. I've also been called crazy in the past though...
