Can you say 'birthday?'

Not in NYC schools you can't. How about other scary words like dinosaur, dancing, computer in the home, wealthy, poor, rich, poverty or Halloween. Nope, you can't put those in NYC schools either. What's behind all of this - hurt feelings.
If you say birthday, Jehovah's witnesses do not celebrate birthdays, so the other 99.9 percent of us better forget ours too. Dancing? Well some religions don't like dancing either, so the majority must stop that right now. Dinosaurs? They might scare little kids. (Frankly, I was fascinated in a good way by them, but obviously I'm odd.)
How about 'computer in the home?' Well, not everyone has a computer in their home so, darn it, why should the rest of us admit to it?
Wealthy and rich - upsets the poor. Poor and poverty - upsets the poor. Halloween? Because every time we hear that word, it's fairly obvious we run out and commit a pagan act. I've got my kettle boiling right now.
Since language in NYC now depends on what people own, I guess there will be a huge silence soon since some don't own ipads, ipods, cell phones, decent clothing, expensive shoes, limos, Mercedes, Rolls Royces, Rolex watches, any car, any watch, any purse, any jeans, or how about some don't have homes, furniture, or bills to pay.
What will be left when the language police are finished? Not a darned thing, that's what. I never thought I would live to see the American language so mangled as is being done right now. And to see all these words removed from it? Preposterous.
What words are you putting on hold?

Some kids may not have clothes that are as good as other kid's clothes; so I guess clothes have to be banned. Wait there must be some problems that would cause; oh yea kids aren't supposed to see private areas of the body; does that mean all the kids should be made blind? Some kids learn to read at a slower pace than others so all kids must be kept at the same pace. Oh wait that is already being done in my state with kids being advanced to higher grades even though they can't read at the higher grade level. That is part of the reason the schools here are among the poorest rated in the country

No, stealthy, we don't blind the kids; we just forget there are parts of their bodies that are not alike and toss those words out.
Well, duh, of course we keep everyone at the same reading level - which is close to none - but...
Hold it. Why get rid of all these words when too many of our kids can't read at all when they leave school? Since they cannot read, won't it hurt their feelings if someone else can? So all words are now banned in school! Thank goodness, we got that figured out.
See that puts everyone on an even playing field - dumb and proud of it!

I have promised not to take part on posts that have to be with other countries culture or laws. So, as a language lover, I´ll just write down JEEEZZZ!!! if that is not also banned. Thinking of it, it should be
