Perhaps by now, some of you have seen on Youtube or even this show of Jessica Soho, tackling the video produced showing what this foreigner dislike in the Philippines . Among them are , market are dirty, the surroundings are dirty, men just pee anywhere and the dirty CR, unsafe construction practices and uncovered manholes. The most hurt was Cebu City. But the mayor was on second thought that it served as an eye opener for them to correct what the foreigner has enumerated and to that i agree. Well, we cannot please everybody. But let’s face it guys, we really have many things to correct such as those above. Instead of getting angry, let’s just take it as a constructive criticism and work together in making the Philippines a clean and beautiful place to visit.

I think people are just ignoring those dislikes that the guy pointed out. Officials or owners can very well do something about it, but because there's no on complaining , they just let it be. And thanks to this guy, who let them scamper to their feet to correct them.

Actually, he apologized because many Filipinos lambasted him for it.

That's true. Philippines, being a 3rd world country, needs a lot of polishing in many aspects. Even, superpower countries have things to improve, how much more for a developing country like ours. I wonder what the Cebu City government has done about that ill eye opener.

Well, this particular episode was shown in Jessica Soho. According to Jessica, the gaping manhole was just covered temporarily. The very "mapanghi" na CR is still the same, with the owner shunning interview.

Gosh. I think I saw that episode, partly. Those CRs - even I, a Filipino dislike that, too.

We really cannot please everybody. On the good side, those dislikes leads to an eye opener to cebu officials on what they should have done. I agree with you, let's work together to make our country better and not get emotional due to our wrong actions. It's our fault anyway so we need to correct it.

Yes, we cannot really please everybody. No matter what, there will be somebody who will dislike a thing that we do. Let's just take it as constructive criticism.

you are absolutely right it doesn't bother me at all. i am actually pissed at how our system is here. but at least now, they are doing something about all these things the American boy said because they are all true. you know they will never make a move unless they are being criticized BUT on the other hand, this is a third world country so what do you expect hehehe. if only government officials don't steal the money, i don't think the country will look this bad.

Well, you have your point there cherish. Actually, i am not bothered that much too. They are just minor ones that could be corrected. Well, here in the Philippines , government authorities would just scramble for action if they are already on TV or is on the radio.

I have seen the video as well, and I am from Cebu and I didn't get mad at the man who made the video because what he showed on the video was real. There were things that he exaggerated it but most of it are true. Yes, this is a wake up call for the Filipinos. The mayor shouldn't get mad about it and all he has to do is clean Cebu City.

Yes, we shouldn't really get mad if a foreigner says so. It is meant to call the attention of authorities, which they can't just do in person, hence this video. It's an effective one after all.

Philippines is a beautiful country. I have seen the video, most of the things of Philippines are looked good to me. Marketing system and it’s management is very poor. Really market places are dirty. It should be changed by authority. Men are very friendly, but they have bad habit to pee anywhere. After all, it is a good city.

Indeed the Philippines is a beautiful country despite those posted dislikes. I guess, we are not just the only country who have some citizens who would just pee anywhere, they would like to whenever no one is looking.

I agree to that one but the way they presented it to the whole world is something that is not acceptable. I think for one to mock a country and post it on internet is not the right thing to do. We can say anything but of course should be delivered in the right manner and medium. On the other hand, we have actually heard this on our daily local news already and just disregarded it but when a foreigner posted it on the net we hated it. I guess you are right to say it was a wake up call for everybody to look into this things and work together to better our country.

I agree with you that its' supposedly through the internet where the world can see it. They are actually minor ones that could be corrected , had the proper authorities attention were called.
