ODesk is a really food start. I used them for a short while, but then college got in the way and I had to abandon them. They were very useful. It can be difficult getting your first few jobs, but once you have a few successful jobs on your profile people will be more willing to hire you.
Have you considered blogging, or maybe article writing to earn some extra income while at home? It can be kind of difficult, but there's enough success stories that it could be worth checking out. Back when I was more active I was earning about $150 a month and I didn't have nearly as much free time to work on writing as I would have liked. You might have better luck.

There were a couple of them. Using all of them at the same time massively increased my income. Unfortunately, that was a long time ago and times have changed. I don't have the time now to actively write new articles and promote them to the same extent that I used to. Triond and Bukisa certainly have changed a lot regarding how they pay people, so I've all but abandoned those.
I'd recommend Knoji primarily. It offers loads of great tools for writers to use to get their articles more views, as well as some very high paying rates for new articles.

For freelance sites other than Odesk, you can try to check Elance or Guru.
By the way, there are, of course, lots of way to earn money online other than from freelance sites. For example, you can try to start your own business by selling your own stuffs or affiliate marketing..

Dear friend,
I feel there are lots of other options, like small scale business at home. Like making of fancy items, pencils, candles etc. Online maybe if an online shopping site is made you could sell these through that. I feel it needs interest too. Anyhow I feel soon you may get a job to do...All the best.
