Earl Scruggs Dies

Bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs has died. He was 88 years old. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

I remember his theme song for the Beverly Hillbillies. And so much more. Bluegrass music is a big deal down here where I live. We have a weekly concert in one of our parks of locals who play the banjo. Yes, he will be missed for sure.

He will be missed. He wrote some great tunes. Bluegrass is a good sound too. His music will live on.

I think the first time I heard him (or any bluegrass music) was as half of Flat & Scruggs at the Philadelphia Folk Festival so long ago I forget the year. This isn't a big market for bluegrass but they were great and I've liked the genre ever since. I was sorry to hear he'd passed.

Its sad to know this great banjo player has passed away. I would have enjoyed watching a performance with his sons. Truly one of the greats is no longer performing now.
