i personally do have facebook pulled up a lot through out the day but tht is because i use it to talk to my sister more and to talk to friends from school that have moved on and are out of state. i also keep up with others in my family. not to mention i use it for some other sites and for some of the games.
now i do see some people who do nothing but spend all day every day on facebook and they post the most random things that no one really cares about or even wants to know for that matter. then you have the people who have to post a pic of EVERYTHING they are doing at any given moment. then you have the people who spend the day adding all the people they can to see who has the most friends which is not only pointless but very unsafe!

I spend time on Facebook to chat to friends that I don't get to see on a regular basis or those that are abroad. My family are originally from Holland, so those I contact through there also.
That said, I spend only a small amount of time online in Facebook, I was very into it there for a while, but at the end of the day I have plenty of better things to do.
I can't understand folks' obsession with spending all day on it, even away from the office or home on their phones. Updating status' with 'just ate this', 'just been there', 'going here', 'relationship problems this', 'relationship fantastic that'. It'd drive you around the bend!

For them it is not a waste of their time, Facebook provide them with connection to their friends and family members 24 hours a day, it serve a purpose for them, i am sure many of them know what they are doing in FB and choose to do so because they love the site. Not a waste of time at all as long as they enjoy their activity.

good day sua006,
with regard to your main topic, perhaps, people does not really waste their time just like that. hence, we cannot really judge them directly. as some people are logged on to facebook because of some good reasons. since now a days, this social networking site is one of the good sites where you can do better promotion. aside from that, you can also get referrals from this site especially if you have more friends around.

I used to spend a lot of time on Facebook because I was bored and the games were fun at the time. After awhile that got old though. Their games are always battling with technical bugs, and they just get old after awhile. Now I only get on there for a few minutes to check to see how my friends are doing. If I stay on there for longer than 5 minutes now, it is because I am chatting with friends.
I know a lot of people still enjoy the gaming experience on facebook. A lot of the games have energy bars. People just wait around for their energy bar to fill up and then they start playing again. I think Facebook has a lot of their appeal over the past year, but I feel that it is still better than MySpace.

I think it is such a waste of time. Facebook that is. I mean, come on...you can so so little. what's the point? I have one. for my family and friends only. Yet no one says anything but a few useless insignificant things a week! For instance, my niece...in the army in DC... and she posts "I got a ticket twice in the same day for speeding. Thank goodness the police are watching out for me!" Are you serious? First, I think she is lying. She probably got one ticket (she has a mustang) for speeding and created this big thing of two. And then BRAGS about it! I mean come on! Granted others might have different conversations, but you hear all the time about bad people picking on the innocent and bad things happeneing all cause the "found each other" on Facebook. I hvae friend that have 300 or more "friends". I am sorry but I can't believe anyone has that many "Friends". And do they talk every day? There aren't enough hours in the day! And what can you possibly say to that many people anyway? I think Facebook is so over rated and dangerous. But that is the wave of the future. Coupons have even gone "facebook" now...you have to "like" their site before you can get a coupon!

I use facebook too so I can chat with friends that I'm not in the same town now. Usually when im on the computer im keeping it opened in a tab just in case someone needs me for something. Now if some people are constantly online maybe they are playing one of those "magnificent" facebook games. :P

I don't think spend time on facebook is time wasting.
The internet has already been a society, you can make friends, share your funny thing, even erarn money. Maybe if's waste time for you but it's almost the all for someone else.
I think we can't make all the thing meaningful, sometimes waste some time can bring the pleasure to us.

many people spend time on Facebook just because they have friends and talk there and write.
but for me it is sometimes at a loss.
there are people who clock in facebook and I can not explain why.
is quite true that everything's just a site where many people have registered and you can find all there.
nice day!
