If we personally read the Bible,is that sufficient?

It is true that many people can learn a great deal by reading the Bible personally. If their motive is to learn the truth about God and his purposes, what they are doing is highly commendable. But,being hones with ourselves, are we truly going to grasp the full significance of it all without help? The Bible tells about a man who held a prominent position but who was humble enough to acknowledge his need for help in understanding Bible prophecy. That help was a member of the Christian Congregation.- Acts 8:26-38.
Ofcourse,if a person reads the Bible but does not apply it in his life,it does him little good. If he believes it and acts on it,he will going to follow what God has commanded him to do so and that's what really matter.

I think it depends on the person. I have trouble with the church.. because I think two false doctrines have been adopted and are strongly held by the established church. But one of these is highly insulting to God.. and I just cannot stand it. "Love and believe in God, and in His Son, Jesus, savior of the world, but if not I will burn you alive forever and ever with no end in sight." I'm sorry! But how logical is that?
Now we can trust the bible! It's men's translating that is up for questioning! How did "sheol" of the Old Testament, which "in Sheol, there is no thought nor doing" (Ecclesiastes 9:10) - how did it become alive forever crying and screaming?
I researched. It's all a pagan idea, from waay back to Babylon.. not a burning afterlife.. but afterlife (whereas God said "dust you are") for good folks a paradise afterlife and for bad folks a gloomy afterlife.. Any verse in the Bible seeming to say 'hell' can be easily explained. I've studied them all.. tracing words back to the originals and striping men's legends attached to them.. Egypt had layers, and fire.. And Dante, well, he made it all so popular.. Crazy how it insinuated into the "Good News"! ["God is the savior of all" 1 Tim 4:10.. and so maNy more verses like this.]

It's very good to study the bible on your own. I think you do need someone with experience in the teachings to guide you at first, but you should continue on your own too. Never just let someone tell you what the bible says. They could twist the words and trick you. Read it from front to back and back to front. The first time I read the bible back to front I realized I had missed so many things reading it from to back. There are so many things in the bible that are connected. Many things that people think are contradictions, but would see are actually not contradictions. They just missed something.

Reading the bible just for the sake of being closer to God is insufficient. What matters most is that you read the bible with all your heart and soul. Believe what is written on the bible and follow the way how Jesus live.
