Do you write letters anymore? Real letters, on paper, with a pen or pencil? Who do you write them to? What do you write about? Do you think it's harder to write a letter than to write an email? Often we get emails from friends that are all lower case letters with poor punctuation, poor grammar but writing a letter we pay closer attention to these things. Do you notice that when you write a letter instead of sending an email?

i have written a blog post about this and read something similar too. i dont write handwritten, gramatically incorrect and typographically incorrect letters anymore. i used to. and would love to bring it back. it just feels more sincere. i write back then to friends... it is harder to write a letter since you are letting your feelings out. emails are just not the same. :)

I used to send and receive a lot of handwritten letters. When I was a teenager I had so many penfriends from around the world and I loved reading about their lives and their countries and their cultures. I also enjoyed writing beautiful letters and decorating them with drawings, pictures, quotes and lots of other things. My ex-boyfriend and I exchanged handwritten letters when we had a long distanse relationship. He didn't have internet access, so emails weren't an option.
Today I hardly ever write letters on paper. Sometimes I send a few handwritten christmas letters, but most of the time I only write emails, because it is much easier. It is cheaper as well, because stamps are expensive today. In my country the cheapest stamp costs 1 dollar and 50 cents, but the other stamps are much more expensive.

Hi there. Despite the convenience of electronic messaging, I still find the traditional means important in showing the receiver your thoughtfulness. Because writing letters takes time, takes effort, and is a bit more expensive, the more it shows the sincerity, and thoughtfulness that you poured into it. I wouldn't say that I do it as regularly as I did before but once in a while, it's a touching gesture to do so

Unfortunately, I haven't written any letters for quite a long time now. I think, the most decent letter I've made was like 6 or 7 years ago and it was a break up letter. A little old school, I know, but still it was worth it. I think I used to give writing letters more thought than when I send an email or even post anything online. I miss those times when letters were more romantic and were in style. Although emails are easier to make and send and a lot cheaper than writing letters, I think, letters are still way better to send and receive especially if it comes from someone special.

I still occasionally write a real letter. I have a great aunt who is pushing 100, and while she does have the internet, she prefers letters. I also send pictures to her of my daughter so she can have something on her fridge or to show to her friends.
I have a pen pal program for my students with a teacher I know who lives and works in Arizona. I use it for a writing grade for my students, and I communicate with a letter to that teacher as well.
We sometimes type the letters, just to get some realistic keyboarding practice, not just the typing program.

It's been ages since I wrote a real letter. I loved it and always wrote to my family members, I had a lot of penpals too. It is harder to write than writing an email, I have to think a lot about what I want to write exactly. I remember I threw out my half-written letters often, because I couldn't correct them and wanted them to look pretty.

Hi,crimsonladybug~
I haven't written a real letter since senior high. And it has been five years since my last letter. It's just easier to contact our friends with emails and text messages,or simply calls. Cell phones and Internet are replacing letters.
I don't think it's harder to write a letter than an email, though. And I hate it when people send me messages with poor grammar and punctuation, in email or text message. Most of my friends send me pretty clear emails and text messages and I do the same too. I regard it pretty rude if people don't check grammar and punctuation first before sending me something.
Have a nice day~

Me and my boyfriend still write love letters to each other,
I think it's so sweet because when I'm just writing to my friends,
I 'll email them or PM through Facebook. I exchange emails
and PMs on Facebook with my boyfriend too but on very special days
such as monthsary or anniversary, sometimes we just write to each
other when we don't give gifts because writing an actual love letter
is very special. However, I don't write letters to friends anymore.
Even though I would like to write to friends overseas, that would cost
a lot of money.
