It keeps decreasing at a rapid rate everytime I log on. Yesterday when I logged off it was 13gb and now it shows 10.3gb. It seems to recover some mb after sometime but what could be the reason? Also all my files in C drive are in blue colour. Help please

If your files color is blue then it mean your files is compressed and if you compare it with other files of course the size is different with actual size. Or, it can be your anti-virus were updating.

Chances are, you have a virus. Go do a scan and delete anything it finds. If you go through several reputable virus scanners and find no malware at all, then I suggest you find a good friend who knows a lot about tech or a professional to come check it out, because that's pretty weird. I'm guessing you don't have any programs that naturally do that, or else you would know about it and not think to make a post like this, so chances are there's some foul play going on.

Deleting temporary file in program c is may a good idea i think, and another is delete history of internet. Both of this can be done in control panel, Internet options and delete browsing history and cookies. You also can uninstall some programs that currently not in use. You may install later when you really need it. It is make you free some space in program c, simple. The blue screen normally shown because some viruses is harm your computer or some of device inside your computer failure to function. This is only coincidence could happened?

hello! The C drive should not be store with storage files because it may happen that the files are already corrupt. It might be virus but check first your sector. Do defragmentation in your disk once in a while. Like once a month.

I think you should try to format your harddisk. I would suggest you to back up all the data and format your hard disk. this will remove the virus and also helps in remove the malware or adware. Sometimes the virus and other tends to decrease the hard disk space.

This is odd. If you haven't been downloading anything, then it definitely sounds like some type of virus. But I don't know if it's physically adding things to your C: drive that are actually stealing your space. If it is, then this is a dangerous virus that's downloading things to your computer! You must get rid of it. I'm not all that great when it comes to computers, but I'm not totally illiterate on the subject I suppose. So maybe it could also have something to do with your drive not being partitioned. I could understand virtual memory decreasing. But physical memory? You may just have a corrupt OS and need to reformat and create separate partitions.

your whole hard drive is compressed transfer some of your files to your other hard drives. if your my documents, picture, videos, downloads, and etc. is located at the C:\(root) directory of your computer everytime you download save an image, a document or whatever file. it goes to C: if it's not located there check for viruses and bad sectors. you should also try using tuneup 2012 or 2011 to defrag and perform some optimization for your computer. and remove programs or games that you don't really use.

Your anti virus may not be up to date or it can not detect the virus on your machine.try out free antivirus at cnet.com and maybe your hard disk will start to behave normally again. If this persists however I recommend you to format your hard disk.

try running your anti-virus, it could possibly be your computer doing updates but then deletes the tempory files.
