Fender Mustang II

I play guitar, and my amplifier is a Fender Mustang II combo amp. It has several pre-loaded effects and settings. One of the pre-loaded effects is an octaver (it takes the note you play and transposes it down an octave, basically turning your guitar into a bass guitar). What I was wondering is, since it has the octave effect pre-loaded into it, does that mean that it's safe to use without worrying about blowing out the cone or damaging the amp (you see, on a normal guitar amp, using a bass would break it because of the low frequencies that it wouldn't be able to handle). So, does this mean that the amp was made to handle low bass frequencies since it was designed with an octave effect pre-loaded into it? Does this mean I can plug a bass guitar into it? How does all this work?

I wouldn't think it will be good for your amp. for me a bass guitar never suite the to be used at a guitar amp even if it had an octave effect and could take the low frequencies sounds made by the guitar. It think the force created by bass guitar is a lot more compare with a guitar even at the same frequency. Better stick with bass amplifier for bass guitar and it sound a lot better.

You can use it but it will not sound as good as a regular bass amp. Guitar amps using a broader frequency range and a smaller speaker cones... Rock on bro ! :)

Yes, it does. My friend also ever experienced that. I do not know how it works, but i think i will ask my friend then. :)
