If only I had been there to see it. A few weeks ago when I was babysitting my mother while my dad was in church I decided to pull a prank on him. My dad's a very fun guy and has a good sense of humor. I had been watching America's Funniest Home Videos and it reminded me of a video they had shown a couple years ago. So I tried it out. I got several rubber bands, and put them around the sprayer by the sink. That way when my dad turned the water on, the sprayer would spray water directly at him.
So he came home but didn't move to go to the kitchen. Since it was 9pm I headed home. Around 9:45pm I couldn't resist, so I called him. The first words out of his mouth were, "You got me good."
The last prank pulled on me was by my dad so I'll have to be careful he doesn't get me back. Today is April Fool's Day but no one has done anything yet - which is good. Do you guys pull stuff on April Fools? And do other countries have a version of Funniest Home Videos?

I love pranks, whether receiving or giving. Of course, it's better to receive than to give. I don't usually do much on April Fool's Day, mostly because people expect it. It's been pretty warm lately, so today I gave the cats a bowl of frozen water (in addition to their regular bowl). They looked at me like I was crazy, but i figured they'd have fun with it.

Been too busy spring cleaning today for any pranks, but the rubber band around the sprayer is an old trick that my sisters and I would play on one another and that I played on my husband and kids. My son got me a couple months back because it was so long since anyone played that trick, and once again I look at the sprayer before I turn the water on..lol

I have wanted to do the spray trick since we got new faucets but my husband is not good at practical jokes. He gets mad when the kids jump out from behind a door and say boo. So me and the kids usually joke with each other. They got me good when they put a giant rubber spider on the rinse dispenser in the washing machine. I opened the watching machine, saw the creature and screamed. They got me good.
I really like hiding and jumping out and scaring them. You know those videos that you watch on the computer that turns into a screaming face. I sent one to my daughter and was sitting at another computer next to her when she was watching it. My husband and older daughter came down the stairs and signalled them to stop and watch. We all got a good laugh when my daughter jumped back in her chair. I only wish I video taped it.

The video I saw with the faucets was of a woman doing it to her husband, and he got so mad! They ended up winning second place though for the video. So if you ever decide to do it, make sure to get it on tape. I bet that husband was not complaining after cashing his check.

Sounds funny!
I don't play a lot of pranks on others.
I am playing an April Fool's joke though, but not a lot of people are falling for it. I put a picture of a positive pregnancy test on my Facebook profile. Most of my friends are asking me "Who peed on your stick?". Darn them! LOL

Nice going Amber! Your dad needed a good laugh! I never
was a prankster, probably because I didn't want any done to me! I
forgot it was April Fools Day (and thankfully the bf was oblivious too)
Unfortunately, 2 of my gf's have kept me busy with their "drama" all
weekend. Definitely not funny stuff...

That was fun you have a good relationship with your dad. I can't even remember the days when was the last time I have a funny moment with my dad, I do pranks on him too when I was a little girl. Normally I don't do pranks with my friends but I do some practical jokes and funny stories with them.

I didn't prank anyone on April Fools day....well I guess I did. I was visiting my friend in Wisconsin and did two pranks to her husband....Last time I was there I bought this rat and tied it to the shower door with fishing line....so when he opened the shower the rat flew out at him....He got me on Friday night...so in return I was out in his garage and put the rat in the leg of his work pants.....so when he is going to mow or something well the rat will fall out.....also bought a Baby Ruth candy bar...put some toilet paper on it and laid it next to the toilet.....LOL....I am naughty..and I love Funniest Home Videos!

It seems you did get him good! Too bad you weren't there to see it though but you have a good imagination, right? Use it and have yourself another good laugh! The only thing about April Fools day that I wish would work for me is when I have to sit down and pay the bills that they would all just mysteriously go away.

I bet you did get him good. I love harmless fun and when you have someone like that which you can "play" with..it makes it even better. I love the America's Funniest Home videos. I was watching this one show called "Scare Tactics" that I loved. I watched a marathon once all day long. My stomach was sore from laughing so hard. I was inspired to pull one over on my girls once but I didn't go through with it. I was going to have a big scary looking guy from work come over and just get in my pool and walk around in it. They would have flipped out if they had seen him bouncing around nonchalantly in the pool. He was afraid of what my b/f might do to him if he did it though so we decided to postpone the prank
I am going to attach one of my favorite scenes from Scare Tactics. Be sure to tell me what you think.

Ha ha, as long as it's all in good humor, that's funny. But you better watch your back...Payback's a B!
I haven't played a prank on someone in SO long! But I suppose when you don't know a person as well, you never know how they are going to react to whatever it is you're doing to them...
Anyway, happy April's Fool Day! (I had completely forgottten about this until reading this discussion! So thanks!)

My family doesn't pull pranks on April's fools, but my mom has a great sense of humor that really gets us kids when she was still alive. Her favorite prank on us was to set food on the table, like a covered dish, and when you open it because you're thinking it's food, it would either be empty or sometimes a very, very small piece of chicken. One time, she bought those day-old chicks that are sold here as street food in my country, set it up on a big plate and covered it and set it on the table. My brother came home that night and I could hear him laughing so hard in the kitchen because imagine a chick set on a big plate and mom told him that she had cooked him "fried chicken".
One more prank she does is to keep candy wrappers and ball them and wrap it in such a way that it looks like candy again and puts it back in the bag. We would just laugh when one of us kids would get this "candy". I miss her a lot.

Such a wonderful relationship you..and your Father have, Ambie! That's probably what gets YOU and HE thru all these rough times! My Father, too..had a great sense of practical joke humour...and it kept me on my toes!
The only one playing "April Fool's JOkes" on me..this year, was Nature! Specifically "Ol Man Winter!" Got up at my usual time, yesterday, before 4 a.m., and was making my coffee...for some odd reason looked at the kitchen window...and could NOT believe my eye's...It was SNOWING...and hard! Turned on the deck lights and could NOT believe how hard it was snowing........
The Joke was on me...I e-mailed ALL my friends here in B.C. @ 4:00 a.m. saying this is NOT an April Fool's joke...get ready to start shovelling when you get up!
Well...you guessed it...the SNOW turned to RAIN..and by the time everyone else in the world got up...there was NO snow! Thank goodness...a few saw it too!
Don't need humans to play jokes on me...when Mother Nature does a great job!

Forgot to add;
It is totally UNUSUAL for it to snow on April 1st! Confirmed that with my neighbour, later in the day...He has been here 42 years...and it has NEVER happened before!

Hi! AmbiePam, here in the Philippines April 1 is April Fools Day too, but most of the younger generations does not know what it is already. When i was younger i remember my aunt told me not to lend money to other people during April Fools day because i will not be paid if i do so. I think that was because they really remember April 1 as such. Nowadays i never observed or seen pranks or jokes during April Fools day. Maybe young ones in my place does not give much attention to it or they just don't know what it is. It is quite sad but that's the way it is, maybe all of us here are just so busy looking for a living. I hope in your place it is still the same as before, April 1 as really April Fools Day. Enjoy!

We did watch the overseas..(^^) we (me and my family) prank each other a lot but it just among us and it just a light prank not too serious just wanna get laugh and the most important we don't embarrassed others. We don't do stuff like April Fool as we don't need it..(^^)

When I was a boy, I was very passionate in making jokes, of course, harmless to my friends. The traditional custom of "fish of April" is used here in Italy, especially in making a person believe something, just to put it jokingly "in trouble".
Now, I come to the age of 37 years, I do not enjoy doing tricks but this year I received 2.
The first, I did my brother making me believe that someone had stolen the car!
The second, my aunt called me with cellphone and saying: "looking out the window." I after I overlooking, thinking to see her under, I hear at the phone, "April Fish"!
