Something that happened with my sister a while back, something simmple - She dropped a tub of grated parmesan and lost half of it to the floor. Mum came into the kitchen as we were cleaning it up and I took the blame. Simple reasoning - I don't live at home, a scolding from mum is like water off a duck's back, so I was quite happy to take the blame.
What have you taken the blame for that you knew you would not get as badly scolded for as the actual culprit?

My father in law told me of story that happened when my husband, his son was a child. He was the youngest of seven children. My father in law told that some money was stolen from the household and he lined the kids up and said all would be punished if the guilty one did not come forward. So, the oldest boy confessed although Dad found out later he was not the guilty one. He said the oldest was trying to protect the younger siblings from punishment but in the end , Dad punished all anyway, they were grounded to their rooms for a week.

I haven't really had to take the blame for anyone in a very long time. I guess the last time was when I was a child and it was for my half brother. He was the youngest and my dad was really really tough on him. I didn't live with my mother or father growing up but since it was my dad's mom and dad that raised me, I would see him and his family more than my mom's. Anyway...he never punished me and my grandparents were pretty laid back. I took the blame for my half brother anytime I could when he was at my house visiting. He was just spirited..lol.

That was really nice of you! What a good sister you are! (Or brother, I don't actually know lol). I can hear my dad's wrath sometimes too about little stuff that I do that drives him crazy. No one has ever stepped up and said Don't blame her! I did that! but it's basically stuff that is obviously something I did - such as I leave my shoes (boots, flip flops, sneakers etc) around the house sometimes when I'm in a rush. And this drives my dad CRAZY. I never hear the end of it. .

I've always been a divil for leaving stuff lying around and getting in trouble for it. It's not often someone else in the home place takes the blame for something one of the other sisters did, but on this occasion I was feeling generous lol.
Sister :)
