Do you go to cinema and watch movie alone? Its been like two years now since I last watch movie in cinema and its because I have a gf to accompany me. Now that I'm free for two years I don't watch movie in cinema anymore. I feel alone if I go and watch movie alone. I don't know maybe because I just miss her even though its been two years now since we last see each other.

That's exactly what my son did yesterday. He's somewhat a loner, so it does not seem to bother him at all to go to the cinema by himself. He said he was not the only one who was watching movie alone; he saw many there doing the same thing...

Many there doing the same thing? what same thing? I don't know. Maybe I'm busy when I'm watching movie in cinema or I really don't look around and check who is watching. But in my experience most of those who watch movies are either in group or in pairs. But I seldom see someone watching alone. And those who are watching alone actually not watching but looking. Looking for what? Its depends. lols.

He was watching 'Wrath of the Titans' or something like that... I don't know, perhaps that particular movie attracts people who do not mind to go alone

I guess some don't mind other do. I see many posters in my thread and some say they don't mind. Other say they prefer to watch movie in their house if they don't have companion to watch movie in cinema. Anyway I'm just wondering do you have boy friend or girl friend?

It's been a long time since I went to the cinema (I prefer watching a movie home with some friends) but when I went to the cinema I usually needed some company even for movies that I really needed to see. :)

Surely especially some summer cinemas here in Greece are really nice to go with some company and see a movie, Though the main reason I'm not going is cause I prefer talking when I watch a movie and I don't think cinema is the right place for me to do so :P

If that is the case then its better that you do watch movies at home. Because I'm sure many will going to get irritated if you talk inside the cinema. In our country the cinema attendant can escort you outside the cinema if you talk excessively.

I guess movies are for many. Yeah I watch movies at the comfort of my home also. But theirs nothing going to beat watching movies with somebody you love beside you. I know its hard to find a friend that has free time like me. Especially if you are now in 30's or 40's as every body is either busy with their family or with their business or with their work.

It's been several years since I've last watched a movie and if ever I see one, I prefer to see it myself because I want to fully appreciate the whole movie. I also watched with friends but I end up being disappointed because you have to take your companion into consideration.

I recall watching the movie Titanic with my girlfriend. It was supposed to be one of the highest grossing film in history but i didn't really enjoyed it because i was busy kissing her.

If you don't enjoy it then you also don't enjoy the kiss. lols. If someone ask you two, How's the movie? And you answer, "Well, I really don't enjoy". I'm sure your girlfriend will going to give you a mean stare. lols. Because even though what you meant is the movie she will misinterpret is as her kiss. lols.

This is the fist. lols. I guess you enjoy watching alone then. So does it mean you don't like watching movie with your girl friend? Or boy friend? Because me I can't imagine myself watching alone. lols. But I guess its because I always watch movie with someone else.

Old friends are busy with their work and family. Me I'm single and no work. If I can find a new job then maybe I can go out with my new officemate. Sad to say I'm still searching new work.

With other half? So its like a zigzag puzzle in which if you combine the two you become one? lols. Just kidding. Yeah I guess its really lonely. hollow in anyway if we watch movie alone. I feel hopeless that I want to watch movie but I can't. You know that I really like watching movie but I can't stand watching movie alone. I feel like I'm a loner. And since elementary until I loss my job. I have lots of friends.

Sometimes, I do, but often times, I really like to have my boyfriend, my mom, or my friends with me. I usually like to share the experience.

That's what I miss in here. Have someone to share my experience. I'm just secure with her by my side. but since we break up two years ago. I feel alone. Lets face it spending 10 years together doing things together really make me feel secure. But I guess my song now will be sad movies always make me cry. lols.

I guess that's human nature. We are born to socialize. Its really hard to be alone as theirs no one who can survive alone. As they say no man is an island. Even monks do live together.

I've gone to the cinemas plenty of times solo! My husband thinks I'm weird, but if it's something I want to see/do, I'm gonna do it... even if I can't find someone to go with me.

I would not force my husband to go see a movie that he has ZERO interest in seeing, just like he would not force me to go see a movie that I have ZERO interest in. If it was a movie he would be interested in, I'd ask him to go. But, I'm not going to waste the $$$ on a movie ticket AND a babysitter just for something that we BOTH won't enjoy! Plus, sometimes, the movie is a good place for me to escape reality and be completely by myself...

Why not ask your husband to accompany you to the movie? If he will not come then theirs no food for a month. No cooking, no cleaning of the house. lols. I'm sure if he still won't come then its time to think about your relationship. lols.

I've never gone to see a movie alone. I've never really been compelled to. If I don't have a friend to go with, then I just won't go at all. I have a group of friends who I see movies with, and if none of them are free then I'll go with my sister. If I'm the only one who wants to see a certain movie (which rarely happens, because we all have similar tastes) then I'll just wait until I can rent it and watch it at home alone.

Maybe that's the answer. I never liked being out of the house alone, not even to go shopping or get groceries. I have good friends outside of school, which is good because I'm taking a temporary leave of school at the moment. I still have movie-going buddies.

When I was in college I love to watch movie. I guess that's the reason why I miss watching movie so much. But even though I love to watch movie I always have a friend or friends that going out with me. So I really don't feel alone when I watch movie. But I guess life has changed and now I need to find a job, socialize and get my life back.

Its really a different experience if you are watching movie in the cinema. The ambiance is different. Unlike if you are just watching movie in your laptop. I just miss those old days. I guess life do change. Sometimes your on top sometimes your down.

Well, I've actually tried watching a movie alone in a cinema without my partner. It actually felt awesome. What got me to doing such a bold action on my part is the fact that I really hate being with my boyfriend, watching a movie, and soon finding out that he felt sleepy or worse, fell asleep while the movie was being shown. It doesn't make me feel good to have such company. So, there was that time that I really wanted to watch this particular movie, and since I know that my boyfriend won't like it, I didn't bother to ask him to go with me. It actually felt good to have watched something alone and really enjoyed it without thinking whether your companion is enjoying it or not.

I think I'm also guilty with this one. lols. Come on. which is better. watching alone or watching with someone sleeping? At least you still have a companion. If you watch movie alone so what is the difference when your bf is sleeping? I think its better that you bring you bf with you even if he is sleeping. Cinema is a dark place and no matter how safe your place is its still better that you have someone by your side even if he is sleeping.

Yeah, you actually got a point there. But, it was just some sort of rebellion on my part and still I enjoyed it though. I think I'm pretty much in a good cinema with no security issues unlike in some places where there might be people who could jeopardize your safety. I don't know. Maybe, next time, I could ask a friend willing to watch the same movie with me if my bf won't be interested to watch a particular film. Just an idea. But, I still hate having someone sleep all through out the film and even snored once. This sleeping thing didn't happen just once you know.

I know there's no juridial law that may keep you from going alone to the movies, but but what i meant is that it doesn't feel well so no body wants to try it.

When I was still in college, I have gone to the cinema and watched movie alone. But that happened just once. I prefer watching movie with my ex-bf turned husband. I also enjoyed watching along with my friends over pop corn and soda. I used to have a classmate who just went to the movie theater to doze off especially if it's summer. I haven't tried it though. Went to the theater just to sleep?? Was it because they found the movie not interesting enough to them??? Or they really get there just to sleep???

Yes, my classmate who happened to be a guy goes to the movie theater just to sleep. The theater happened to be located to the school. With that, he prefers to doze off there between classes rather than going home. (,")

Yes, I go to cinema and watch movie alone when I am single because most of my friends was very busy and also we dont have the same taste in watching movies. But when I got married I usually go to cinema with my husband. Good thing that we same same taste in terms of movies and I feel very happy when I am watching with him aside from free foods and cinema ticket it serve as our bonding moments

That's good. I'm single right now but that's does not worry me. what worries me is that I don't have a job right now. For the last six years I don't have a job. I'm hoping to find one and land one but same time since I'm already in 40's I have hard time finding a job right now.

As I post earlier. they are busy with their life now. Not like before that we are all single and free right now almost all of my friends are married or in relationship. I'm just the one who is single right now. So in short its home alone for me right now.

I wouldn't really like to go to the movies by myself either. I would go if it was something that I really wanted to see...but it is more fun to go with someone. Maybe you could see if any of your friends want to go with you.

I have lots of friends but at my age all of my friends has settled down or busy with their works. So its frustrating but I know friends are friends but theirs just something that change. they have family, they have someone that they want to spend more time with than you. And since my ex married. Its seems I don't have someone to bother to ask to watch movie with me.

I can rather count on one hand the times where I have gone out to watch a movie in the past couple of years, due to the blasted theater being so far out that it is inconvenient. But each and every time that I have gone, it has been a solo venture. For a number of reasons, for one, I can only go when I can do and there are too many times where people just don't match up with my schedule. Plus when I see a movie, it is something that I like to take in silently and there are too many people who really like to make the movie watching experience social hour. There are too many distractions which mean like loath to go out and see a movie, other than the prices and the distance, but the fact is, when I view a movie, that is not just a social venture for me, it is something for my own enjoyment, me and me alone.

I admire that you can watch movie alone but its hard to watch movie alone especially if the movie is great because you have no one to speak to. Its like you want to say "wow have you seen that?" or "I think he is the one who is guilty" etc. You want to make a conversation about the movie but sad to say you don't have someone to talk to.

Me too. I'm not a very social person. But I don't watch movie alone. I have a friend that always accompany me when I want to watch movie. Sad to say she already married and I'm alone. And I really feel alone now that I realize that I'm getting older.

Never.. Maybe because there's nothing in particular I wanted to watch at that moment when free to wander anyway I wish. Besides I feel most movies are cliched and boring. The only movie that interest me is Inception and Silent Hill..

The last time I watch a movie is a year and a month ago. It's seems its happen yesterday. But I guess that's happen if you don't go out of your house in a year since its seems theirs no happy thoughts in my mind right now. Its seems my 5 years just have a one week worth of memories since I seldom goes out. That's why I remember going out watching cinema. Because that's just my social life before.

I agree. I just feel lonely if I watch alone. Sometimes its really take lots of time to adjust watching movie alone. Right now I have hard time asking my friend to watch movie with me as they already get married or busy with their partners or their jobs. While me I'm a hopeless jobless person.
