I have always love bruschetta at restaurants and yesterday I was at home and feeling like something different to what I usually have so I went through the fridge and found bread, tomatoes, cheese and I thought I wonder if I could make something nice, so I toasted a slice of bread, put cheese and tomato on it, added some onion and mixed some olive oil and balsamic vinegar up and pored a little over the tomatoand onion cheese and I must be honest it was exactly like the bruschetta from the restaurants, I was quite proud of my-self because cooking and stuff is not really my forte... but it was delicious.

Yummy, I love bruschetta too, and our own home made one sound delicious! Instead of toast, try it on some french bread - slice in half, rub a garlic clove over the bread then add your toppings!

The simple things in life often give the most satisfaction. Your little snack sounds absolutely scrumptious and I mean to try it soon.

You Go, Ms. lilaclady! Nothing goes better than an excellent bit of tasty goodness prepared by one's own hand. Cooking is just figuring out what you have a taste for and mixing up with your hands the delicious flavors that are swirling around in your head; i.e., restaurant-style bruschetta. Well done, lilaclady, well done; you've mastered my favorite style of cooking.

That sounds nice, I must try that sometimes, well I got bread, cheese and tomatos in my fridge alxo have plenty of olive oil but don't have any balsamic vinegar. Sometimes when you don't have much, you can always find things to make it into a snack. Tamara

Lila, i haven't tried this toast yet. But it does tastes yummy and i might one day gives it a try as well. Indeed, having able to prepare a meal that tastes like those from the restaurant is a very special occasion. I always try my best to learn to cook something nice and special, especially my favorite recipes from the restaurant. At least, i can saved quite a lot by not having to spend money eating in the restaurant.

Good for you! You had a go at it, unexpectedly it wasn't inferior to the bruschetta from the restaurants. You learned its trick in a jiffy.
