Yesterday reminded me of the importance of one of my plants.
For christians, palm sunday is an important sunday.
Everybody is holding coconut leaves to be blessed by the priest during the mass.
In my case, I used the palm leaves of my plant.
This saved me some coins.
What about you, what did you brought home as a token?

Hello atwilson,
palm sunday is a feast for christians which falls on sunday before easter.
usually christians bring with them a woven leaf to be blessed by the priest and brought home to be hanged on certain corner of the house.
Palm sunday commemorates the triumph of Jesus Christ in entering Jerusalem.
This is all I know about the feast.

Each and every devotee who attends the mass on Palm Sunday will get one or two palm leaves(COCONUT LEAVES)already blessed by the Priest. The Blessed coconut leaf will be transformed into a holy cross by hand and hung up in some corner of the house till next PALM SUNDAY.

Yeah, that is what I know.
The church I am going to blesses the leaves the church goers bring inside the church.
It does not bless and give it to church goers.
I even forgot to hang those leaves.
Now that you reminded me, I will hang it first.
I need to leave typing first

i remember when i was still young and i'm in my father's hometown during holy week my grandfather will make a cross(crucifix symbol) out of coconut leaves and have it blessed..
and since i'm here in the city, and we don't have coconut tree to get some coconut leaves, i bought two pieces and have it blessed after the mass.
