I just finished reading the Hunger Games trilogy and I am kind of disappointed on the ending. It feels like there should be more but instead it took a short cut. The story didn't touch on the issue of Katniss having to choose between Gale and Peeta, like it just so happen that Gale didn't come back to District 12 and Peeta did so Katniss ended up with Peeta. And like the world came into order after the Capitol was seized. And we didn't find out who ordered the parachute drop that killed the children in the Capitol. Well, who knows there might be an explanation soon in the form of another book.

first of all, i would like to clarify on what you are talking, do you already read the three books? of just the first book. the first book is tilted the hunger games. this is called a trilogy because it is compose of three books. maybe the continuation of the relationship between katniss, peeta and gale will continue on the next books. seems that the first book is not full because there is still a continuation. try to read the three books. however, the first book, the hunger games is such a nice story and worth recommending for and reading for. :0

I read the first two books and half of Mockingjay. But I couldn't finish it. I found it to be quite boring and not as compelling as the first books.

I enjoyed the ending. Well, as much as it could be enjoyed. It was a pretty darn dark series, and I think the ending matched the tone of the rest of the series quite well.
As for Katniss not really choosing between Gale and Peeta... well good riddance. I never bought Gale's side of the love triangle to begin with. Plus, when I actually got to know him in book 3, I learned that he was an extremist jerk and I didn't like him much anyway. Besides, the love triangle was never the focal point of the books, it was a side attraction.
As for the parachute drop, I actually think that Gale had something to do with it because it was his sadistic trap design.
